It seems like this song might be about someone living in Iraq when the bombs begin to fall crushing everything they own and their lives ...maybe a husband singing it to his wife about what is happening before them...he says:

m-I think maybe he is saying his wife is dying and it is wiser to not be in such a place of horror perpetrated by monsters and he may be saying he is full of hatred now for those who did this to him, his family and everyone around him..I am not real sure of its meaning, but he is saying it must have been our fate for it to happen this way..to try to comfort the dying woman he loves this..victim of war.

I don't know, do you think this interpretation has any merit..if so, it makes the song really sad and must be how they felt as we did this awful thing to the people in that country.
Josiah strikes me as someone who thinks about things like this..peace, war, and the political issues of our times.
calendar girl, I think your idea is very much a possibility. There are alot of things that the song could be connected to, and that's one of them. And the title fits with the war theme, too.
The song has such a power to it in the third stanza/verse... Josiah's voice holds so much in it, and I am utterly in love with that part.
Also, I think this: "Invisible angels, and being in wide array" should be changed to this: "Invisible angels in brilliant white array"
And this: "I’ll forever kill every right than wrongs my way" should be changed to this: "I'll forever kill and right their wrongs my way"

But yeah, alot of these not-so-popular Josiah songs are really awesome.
