To me, this song and Here's To Love, are pretty much the only songs that sound like E. Von Dahl Killed The Locals & Decomposer.
That is ridiculous because E Von Dahl and Decomposer are so completely different from each other that the songs can't be like both albums

This sounds like a protest song to me.
I think it's protest, too: anticipatory protest from The Matches to those who will complain about the changes in the Matches' sound they'll find on the new CD, A Band In Hope. When the 4 Matches are united, they are more than the sum of their individual parts; they are then one band making the changes THEY want to make in THEIR music. I LOVE the sentiment! Go Matches!
I’m definitely hearing the lyrics differently…where does the “we are four” part come in? And also I think it’s “if we’re not the change we want to see,” not “sing.” I don’t blame whoever posted the lyrics, though, cause the album’s not actually out yet. Hah. I think the message is very straightforward: “If we’re not the change we want to see, the change will be me.” Basically telling people to quit being apathetic and to BE the change they want to see in this world. “When we are loud, we are one; when we are one, we are more.” When we come together with a common passion, especially through music, we can be heard. Quite simple really, but that’s what gives this song such a punch. The Matches are wonderful. :]
I'm loving the new sound!! Been a Matches fan since the "Locals" days and it's really great to see how far they've come. I love the arrangements in this song particularly. Definitely a catchy one ;]
absolutely love them. and this song is AMAZING. i loved it right away. and their new album is going to be amazing just like the rest of their music
