Mark said he could hold his own head up
And share his mind
With the peeling paint on the bedroom wall.
One step ahead of the pack of Marlboros.
Still, I don't believe he would take that fall.
Those things will put you back
Some paychecks,
Set you back about a year or two.
There's a sick little suicide in all that we do,
All that we do.
And the ground downtown is a countdown,
No air anywhere in the area.
Suck back these take-home packs of euthanasia.
Youth in America...

There's a sick little suicide
In all that we do.
There's a sick little suicide
In all that we do...
You decide,
Which one's for you!?

Mark my words, oh, just a little more,
Sara said,
And subtly subsistence is suicide.
Exercise and malnutrition
Keep curves tight,
'cause all that matters is what's outside.
So says every magazine cover
Which gallantly assaults
Our own women and children,
But it's not my fault,
It's never my fault.
We dare bury our three-square fare
In a twenty-first century artery,
And feed beyond our need
So pardon me,
This part of me.

General Commentthis song is like so awesome, i really agree with the lyrics and stuff. it's pretty cool when a band has like a good message with it's songs. it's kinda like pick your own poison, and like the growing problem with women and eating disorders and stuff.

General CommentHow can there not be anyone else who knows about this band. They have an awesome Cd, and put on an even better show. The singer's voice sounds a lot like Hot Water Music, but with better lyrics and better music. At least KidArson knows some good music.

General CommentThis song shares a good perspective on two good issues with teens.
    1) People will go so far to look cool that they will slowly kill themselves in the process of doing so.
    2) Our society is putting so much pressure on women with all the super models and advertisements that some will push themselves far too hard to attempt to acheive that 'supermodel' look, which for most is nearly impossible to achieve without resorting to some very unhealthy forms of weight loss.

General CommentThis is a great song from a lesser-known great band. I saw them at Warped Tour '04 and they were aweseome. I got a hug from Justin and he is hot ~_^

General CommentI agree with "HandicappedJesus" - that part of the song made me cry the first time I heard it, because I had been through an eating disorder and it was beautiful, to me, that someone recognized the problems society can place on people and were vocal about it. Amazing.

Obviously, this song is about people doing things to themselves that are horrible for them and slowly killing them (Smoking, starving yourself/making yourself throw up, etc) even though that maybe they shouldn't be doing them, but they can't control it, or don't want to stop.

"There's a sick little suicide in all that we do/You decide: Which one's for you" - saying that everything has it's downsides.. and how you choose to do certain things can greatly impact your life and destroy it.

Definitely a great piece of artistic musical work.

General CommentI saw them last night, and he explained it to the crowd:

"This song is about our lovely little culture, which makes us get up in the morning, look in out little mirrors, and hate ourselves... Fuck Ashton Kutcher."

General Commentthe song's about like others hinted at the culture of death in america - everything we're taught growing up watching TV is violence, rape, smoking, drugs, and emphasis on what's outside. We just have a death-obsessed culture . It's damn unhealthy and people believe it's the way to live, sadly. The matches are kinda saying WAKE UP and smell the coffee...people die for the stupidest reasons and it's entirely preventable - that said what a fucking awesome song.

    my fave on the cd.
