Do you belong to a song?
Does it drag you along by the tongue at the top of your lungs?
Are you drunk?
Have you been drinking?
Do you below the overpass go with a fifth in your fist
Reminiscing the kiss of a love that just didn't love as much as you did?

Please don't give up, dear walls
Don't let the ceiling fall
When you belong to a song, salty eyes,
You belong.

Shrill notes begin, the grim violin
Then from the silence a violence of sirens orchestrate the score
To which one more corpse is left quiet
How we become the hollows of drums
The rests between notes, the hollers that never reach throats
"friends" in quotes, they're not calling

Please don't give up, dear you
I'm but the sliver moon sliding through
When you belong to a song, salty eyes,
You belong.

Do please believe, however naive
Let it drag you along by the tongue at the top of your lungs
And belong, salty eyes

When you belong to a song, salty eyes,
You belong.

Masterfully thought. Excellent lyrics , not overwrought, magnificent instrumentation and rhytms... Fell in love with it instantly.

    You should listen to this.

p.s. Nice changing vocals , not a wide range but very good use of that.

This is a perfect opener to Decomposer. I love this song so much.

He vocals are amazing in it. Especially when he says 'score' in the line "Then from the silence of violence the sirens orchestrate the score."

    It's amazing.

To me, this song is about following your dreams. It talks about not giving up. Then it says "Let it drag you along" Which can also be about music, but can mean let your dream bring you along for the ride, and if you have a dream , you belong.

I think this song is more about the feeling you get when listening to a song especially one that you can relate to. I think the salty eyes refers to the fact that you're crying because either you've just gone through something like a breakup and the song is a sort of comfort for you or it just feels that good you are brought to tears(I know certain songs do that me for me). It brings back memories, it makes you feel like the person is singing this song just for you.

I think the part about the walls and ceiling not giving is about how you are either blasting the music so loud the foundation around you could give in or the fact that you are singing at the top of your longs, maybe even both.

Anyway this song is lovely, very simple but it is lovely just the same. I love his voice, it doesn't sound too strained like most people out today,

this songs about when the world feels like its all coming down on you, your favorite song can make you feel better. salty eyes comes from the taste of your tears, if you have ever, is rather salty, and denotes itself to crying and despair. but the song is about hope through music

I agree with ladyfromabove, this song is definitely about how much a song means to you.

It's funny, because this song in itself means a lot to me.

This is one of the most beautifully crafted songs I've heard in a long time. It's so comforting to listen to; the "you belong" line is very affecting in a subtle way. I agree with the other users that it is definitely about hope through music, and to me, ladyfromabove, Salty Eyes is THAT song-- the one that feels like it's being sung especially for me. "Please don't give up, dear walls / Don't let the ceiling fall." Something about it just infuses you with hope.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
