Murderers Of All Murderers Lyrics

Irresponsible and unreflecting
Displacing human sense into the afterworld

Running after faint beliefs, where you just have to feel
Conceive suspicion, distrust your faith

Degeneration, dislocation and always hunting for the ones to lead you
No aspiration, no ambition

The one you hope for, the one you wait for
Lies in a long forgotten tomb
Condemned and murdered
Revealed and tortured
We have killed him, you and I

Endless drifting with the stream
And there will be no way to solace

We've raised ourselves to gods
We drank the seas and wiped away horizons
Just everything we loved has bled to death by our knives

A deed that's just too great for us
There is no atonement
And no forgiveness there will be

It's a song that treats the meaning of Friedrich Nietzsche's story "Der tolle Mensch"!

It's about mankind murdering the only thing we called "God"...

"The one you hope for, the one you wait for Lies in a long forgotten tomb Condemned and murdered Revealed and tortured We have killed him, you and I"

"The one" means logically God

i think this is about the Jewish people who, in the time of Jesus being crucified, actually wanted him to be crucified even though he was their prophesied savior. then, after Jesus was put into the tomb, they denied that Jesus was their savior and till this day still await the son of god.

what this song is saying, in my opinion, is face it you killed your savior and he is long gone "The one you hope for, the one you wait for Lies in a long forgotten tomb Condemned and murdered Revealed and tortured We have killed him, you and I" and because you have killed him and wont accept why he died "A deed that's just too great for us There is no atonement And no forgiveness there will be"

It's based on this quote from Nietzsche:

"God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?”

It's about, how people always seek for guidance, in a religios sense and a personal sense, they are never fine with what they have and what they want doesn't exist

For some reason i see this song being about our self destruction and how people still believe that someone's going to save them, but in the end we will just destroy ourselves just like all the others and end up wasting the only life we have.... this one. the one you hope for the one you wait for, is the afterlife and what ever religion your believe in, that god will be the one to take you there. when really "god" is just a way for people to accept the fact that this life only has one purpose, that is to end, no point running. we should enjoy the life right till the end.
