Numbing the Pain Lyrics
hope faded away, withered like leaves
Not knowing is blessing, ignorance the only protection
The fragments of my faith
became the blade in my hand
just darkness my eyes see
pushed me to the end of all dead-end-streets

TheImpalerTMX- You're an idiot first of all...if you have ever heard the band being interviewed you would know the word "Heaven" in the bands name has nothing to do with God or Jesus in the sense but they use it to describe all the fake paradises people create..Listen to there new cd to the song "Greatest Gift of God" then comment saying the band isn't religous
yeah dude your right this band isn't anti christ at all it's against tha people who are irragant and those who dont see tha truth i belive they are some what more religious sure you gys think there all evil and all snti god but if you've ever read tha last book in tha bible it's baasically everything that they cover endzeit.. dealing with tha end days and even biogenesis.... referin to adam and eve and how pople aren's acepting there mistake thus protecting darwins theory and being blinded by tha truth of tha matter so im agreein with you on tha matter that people misinterpret tha band...

It sounds like he is comming to the end of his roads, the dead end streets, symbolic of no more paths to run without getting to God, because all paths lead to him, one way or the other. His dreams torn to pieces, and his hope faded away because there is no hope without our Messiah Jesus Christ. Nothing can numb your pain when faith, the very thing that brings men peace, become blades in your hand.

Who else agrees that this song is the most depressing metalcore song?

Yeah this song is a little song. But it's still a cool song :)

WTF are you saying? "This song is a little song." WTF do you mean with "little" ?
it's awsome.. riffs, lyrics, whole thing... more songs should have this kind of dark wibe

Sorry for double posting, but I couldn't help myself but to post the whole lyrics.... so here it goes:
Numbing The Pain
Dreams torn to pieces, broken like glass Hope faded away, withered like leaves Not knowing is blessing, ignorance the only protection
Nothing is numbing my pain The fragments of my faith Became the blade in my hand Just darkness my eyes see Pushed me to the end of all dead-end-streets
A curse - cannot lie to myself I'm doomed - cannot silence my heart Fear is the tool, conformity our medicine
How can I smile as this age dies, like everybody else Dancing around the fire, that burns this world
Cannot bend down, I would just break I hate myself for playing their game Parents poison their children, never teach them to question If it only wasn't for this certainty in me I am a giant in their tiny world

This song is not talking about coming to Jesus or whatever bullshit that is..This song is talking about how he just cant seem to find something to numb the pain that he holds in his heart. All he sees when he turns around is the inevitable death that persues everyone in life and its extremely depressing. Atleast..thats what I think when I hear this song..

ChristAlphaOmega, have you even ever listened to another Heaven Shall Burn song? Just go look at the lyrics to Implore the Darken Sky to see HSB's view on God and religion. In fact the lyrics to this song seem to be directed in the same kind of place. Oh, but they have the word Heaven in their name so they must be Jesus freaks... too bad the rest of their name says it shall burn.

I personally think its about him and eveything else is fucked up in this society
DreamsoftheMacabre put it well.

I don't see the the big fucking deal on whether the band is fucking religious or not although Counterweight is a more critical and sceptical outlook on religion. Other than that shit this is an excellent.
