Nothin' to Die For Lyrics
Stopped to have a few at five
Now you're crossin' that center line
For the third time
Second time like this this week
Had a friend ask you for your keys
You said "No I'm fine"
You sure do act like you ain't got a thing to lose
But every car you pass might be the ones you take with you
You'd give your last breath to your wife
Take a bullet for your kids
Lay your life down for your country
For your Jesus, for your friends
There's a whole lotta things
You say you're livin' for
Well, you gotta fight it somehow
Stop and turn around
Cause this ain't nothin' to die for
So whats the harm in a little fun?
Cause you're off to work before the sun
Everyday
And the inbox, outbox box you in
And the money you make ain't worth the time you spend
To make your pay
The doctor says man, "the numbers, they don't lie"
The graveyard's full of folks
That didn't have time to die
You'd give your last breath to your wife
Take a bullet for your kids
Lay your life down for your country
For your Jesus, for your friends
There's a whole lotta things
You say you're livin' for
Well, you gotta fight it somehow
Stop and turn around
Cause this ain't nothin' to die for
Straight through that guardrail
Up into that white light
You hear a sweet voice sayin'
Just this side of the other side
Just this side of the other side
You'd give your last breath to your wife
Take a bullet for your kids
Lay your life down for your country
For me, and all your friends
There's a whole lotta things
You say you're livin' for
Well, you gotta fight it somehow
Stop and turn around
Cause this ain't nothin' to die for
Ain't nothin' to die for
Nothin' to die for
Ain't nothin' to die for, no

I believe it is just about a guy who devots a lot of time to his work but has an outlet where he drinks and acts reckless and doesn't realize what he really has. Pretty straight forward. Another good one by Timmy.
Well.. I'm 16 & struggle SEVERELY with alcoholism.. This song hit me in the gut like a 2 ton truck. I believe he's saying that it's not worth bein drunk & reckless. We would die for people we LOVE! Would you really compare alcohol with things you love? If you'd die for someone you love, is alcohol really worth that? You not only risk your own life "But every car you pass might be the ones you take with you" You know I believe songs are for the soul, each person has their different interpretation of it. They're just meant to speak to you, like for me it's helped me to realize how much of an idol alcohol is for me & how I say, " I would DIE to have a bud light right now." So for me I looked at it like this, I would do ANYTHING in the world for my nieces & nephew, give my life for them. Yet I say I'd die for alcohol too. So I'm obviously sayin alcohol is as important to me as my babies! And that's wrong. If I think about it, I don't really feel that way. But thanks Tim! I love the song!
