I actually don't think this song is about suicide, I think this song is about a person with very low self esteem who seek's other people's attention in order to escape from his depressions and problems but deep down he just wants to be accepted and loved. He feels he's not special or good enough so he constantly does thing to feel special or different.

First place on a classroom wall

Notice the pause between first place and classroom wall because it's important. While first place is often a positive thing, the wall is a negative one, like when we were kids we'd be force to stand up against a wall when we did something that got us into trouble.

Mirror obviously symbolizes himself, we usually put use frames in order to make pictures look better and that's what he's doing, he's doing all these things in order to feel better about himself.

We kiss people whom we love, reflect this kiss refers to the fact he wants to feel loved by someone and accepted and when he does he can finally stop doing all these things thus the goodnight.
