Saving My Face Lyrics
See the look on my face
From staying too long in one place
But every time I try to leave
I find I keep on stalling
Feel like a big old stone
Standing by a strength of my own
But every time the morning breaks
I know I'm closer to falling
I'm all out of love, all out of faith
I would give everything just for a taste
Everything's here, all out of place
Losing my memory, saving my face
Saving my face, saving my face
Saving my face.
Listening to what you say
Even though I look the toher way
You could neve rundertsnad the feeling
Of what I'm leaving
I'm all out of love, all out of faith
I would give everything just for a taste
Everything's here, all out of place
Losing my memory, saving my face
Saving my face...
Whoa, ooh...
Leave it all to me
I will do the right thing
Baby I'll be everything I need
Leave it all to me
I will do the right thing
Baby I'll be everything I need
Leave it all to me
I will do the right thing
Do the right thing
I'm all out of love, all out of faith
I would give everything just for a taste
Everything's here, all out of place
Losing my memory, I'm losing the best of me.
I'm all out of love, all out of faith
I would give everything just for a taste

thats a great line dont know if KT really misses love and faith... ... anyway for me its about waiting for something that will never come
This is my favorite song on Drastic Fantastic
I think it s about being in a long relationship that is losing it sense...She knows she has to get out of it, but she s stalling and not taking action athough she knows that that s only going to get worse... She desperately needs to feel the real taste of love and faith again, the taste that isn t in that relationship anymore... So she s trying to leave it all behind and save a little face...That s my humble opinion:)
In an interview on msn.com, KT actually says that the song is about plastic surgery...also said that it is one of her favorite songs of Drastic Fantastic. Just telling you what I know.
Going by the chorus, I think it's about struggling with drug addiction.
Is it not "I'm all out of luck, all out of faith"?
I've heard it's about plastic surgery too- the pressure for older stars to get it or their careers will go down the tubes. The video seems to have plastic surgery tools in it, too- the silver things that float around. I feel like it's also about broader themes of going one's own way and feeling burnt out and empty.
Dude, in the music video those aren't plastic surgery tools, those are totally pieces of her guitar. in the end they all fit together and so she plays it for the last chorus instead of just walking around singing.

the term "saving my face" in this song i think has two different meanings. the first meaning would be obviously the one she stated in an interview about how all these older woman are freaking out because they're aging and they're also losing their memory, but they're more concerned with "saving their face" but i think the other more deep meaning...

the whole first verse kind of seems to talk about how she is sick of the same old same old, but she's stalling maybe because she's afraid to let go and move on.
"i'm all out of luck, i'm all out of faith- I would give everything just for a taste" everything's screwed up so it seems like there's no hope, but she would give anything just to taste that hope "but everything's here, all out of place" everything's messed up and not at all how she wants it "losing my memory, but saving my face" possibly that she's letting go of something in the past and saving her reputation or herself even...maybe by letting go, she's saving herself...i don't know that's just my interpretation of it.
Just to answer C274's question: I looked at the lyrics on her official web site and you are correct. The verse is "I'm all out of Luck, all out of faith."
It is a VERY good song. And boy am I feeling it at the moment.
I like songs like this that can somehow say what you can't find the words to say.
So yea. It's great.
I totally agree Happymask
i am going through the same thing right now and it seems to apply perfectly...
oh the beauty of interpretation
Its about the pressure older women are put under to have huge freakish amounts of plastic surgery.
the video, is weird. the silver bits floating about are bits of her guitar. there was an article in the paper about how it was an expensive video, and that the guy who directed or produced thought the idea of an exploded guitar would be appealing to people
