Molotov Lyrics

they dance all night
and sleep all day
they live for nothing
but this escape
too bad they can't say
at the break of the dawn that the night was a dream
yet nobody can say at the rise of the sun that it was
what it seemed

I know i've swallowed it all
but i could never be full
and now they call me a fool for leaving
( home with you )
( alone with you )

they drink all night
and ache all day
too bad they can't say
at the break of the dawn that the night was a dream
yet nobody can say at the rise of the sun that it was
what it seemed

i know i've swallowed it all
but i could never be full
and now they call me a fool for leaving?
( home with you )
( alone with you )

and i never could be sure...
now i'm leaving
now i'm leaving
so when all those who are convinced there's nothing
but this
come to us and condescend
we know we won't miss emptiness

your first quote..i think it can apply to my party idea. like..teenagers who don't care about anything anymore except going out and partying. and what you said about the second verse..he says drank all night and ache all day..like a hangover. idk, maybe its just cuz i'm still in high school that i think it relates to something that simple =P

'Decadence. It is inviting as it is alluring. And as ultimately empty as it is temporarily thrilling. This is a goodbye song to the party, the dance, written from the perspective of one who has tasted at all (much like Solomon), and found no meaning in any of it beyond the fact that truth is not found in decadence, but in relationship with above...' - Andrew Schwab

sounds like he's talking about a big party with alcohol..

"too bad they can't say at the break of the dawn that the night was a dream"

they can't say they had a fun night because they don't remember it and/or threw up or got sick.

"i know i've swallowed it all but i could never be full and now they call me a fool for leaving"

he drank it all but never got full as in never got the pleasure out of it that they promised and so he left

straight up went to a party and hated it..nothing more nothing less imho

I dont think hes talking about a party. I think its an every night thing "they live for nothing but this escape"

i think by "too bad they can't say at the break of the dawn that the night was a dream" he means by the day they wish the night didnt happen.

also in the second verse hes revieling that its not nearly as fun as it sounds in the first.
