Walk into flames that you start with yourselves
And get help while you can to pull meat from bones
Burn down your home
Create a diversion to buy yourself time
To give thanks to the ones who are all alone
You're all alone
These hives
They break into your skin like a thief
They rob you of life while you sleep
So you cut and you cut til there's nothing left

This paper posed as photographs
This promise snapped with time elapsed
You think you do
But you don't know me at all

If you don't believe in God, you will now
I've got hooks and a chain that will fit you well
So save your air
I've locked your personal things in a box
And if you try to scream I won't ever tell
I won't ever tell
These hives
They break into your skin like a

This paper posed as photographs
This promise snapped with time elapsed
You think you do
But you don't know me at all
Last chance to find what we believe
I hope you save those you've deceived
You think you do
But you don't know me at all

You can't hold your breath forever

This paper posed as photographs
This promise snapped with time elapsed
You think you do
But you don't know me at all
Last chance to find what we believe
I hope you save those you've deceived
You think you do
(You can't hold your breath forever)
But you don't know me at all

This paper posed as photographs
This promise snapped with time elapsed
You think you do
But you don't know me at all
Last chance to find what we believe
(If you don't believe)
I hope you save those you've deceived
(Trust me, you will)
You think you do
(If you don't believe)
But you don't know me at all
(Trust me, you will)
Know me at all

If you don't believe
Trust me, you will

Well this line is pretty bvious

You think you do But you don't know me at all Last chance to find what we believe

Anyways, in my opinion, i dont know what the song is really about, well i think that on the beginning, this person was trying to help this other person but the person was somehow being changed or something to turn into something else [They rob you of life while you sleep]...

To me this song is an argument between 2 people, the singer, and another person who has problems such as depressed and doesnt know god, etc.

If you look at the lyrics a little closer its more like a conversation. the singer are the verses and the other guy (the one with problems) is the chorus.

    Example: Verse 1-

"Walk into flames that YOU start with yourselves And get help while YOU can To pull me from those Burnt down YOUR home Great, a diversion to buy YOURSELF time To give thanks to the ones who are all alone YOUR're all alone These hives They break into YOUR skin like a thief They rob YOU of life while you sleep So you cut and YOU cut til there's nothing left"

the singer is describing the other guys life above.

    Chorus-

"This paper posed as photographs This promise snapped with time elapsed You think you do But you don't know ME at all"

This is the other guys responce. and this i found goes on durring the song.

So if your reading my comment, re-read the lyrics as if it were 2 people talking.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
