Tiergarten Lyrics

Won't you walk me through the Tiergarten?
Won't you walk me through it all, darling?
Doesn't matter if it is raining
Won't you walk me through it all?

Even if the sun, it is blazing
Even if the snow, it is raging
All the elements, we must conquer
To get to the other side of town

I have suffered shipwreck against your dark brown eyes
I have run aground against your broken down smiles
Believe me when I tell you I have no place to go
But to go where the wild flowers grow and the stone gardens bloom.

Won't you walk me through the Tiergarten?
Won't you walk me through it all, darling?
Doesn't matter if it is raining,
We'll get to the other side of town.

Tiergarten is the German word for 'zoo'. So I just assumed it was about his boyfriend, Jorn, who is German. It really is an adorable song.

Tiergarten is actually a part of Berlin. And I think the whole song is about his boyfriend, since he's german and they have also lived there for a while. It really is such a beautiful lovesong and I am still amazed by Rufus' voice.

Tiergarten is German for Zoo so what i get is that he is trying to walk through the zoo meaning like the world and with the certain person(Jorn) he can do it no matter what because they have too.

Has anyone heard the 14-minute version of this, from the Colette N°9 album?

It is absolutely incredible, Rufus' music is ingenious.

Yeah, I've heard it. But I definitely don't think it's Rufus' work, it's just a remix. And honestly, I don't think it adds anything interesting to the song, kind of boring and a bit of a waste of 14 minutes. But that's just my opinion, anyway!

Cheack it out, here's a direct link to a streaming of it (requires Quicktime player I believe): http://isodsgn.com/music/COLETTE%20N°9/Colette%20N°9/1-14%20Tiergarten.mp3
