Car Crash Lyrics
I'm wide awake and so alive
ringing like a bell
tell this is paradise
not some place I fell
'cause I keep falling down
I want to feel the car crash
I want to feel it capsize
I want to feel the bomb drop, the earth stop 'til I'm satisfied
I want to feel the car crash
'cause I'm dying on the inside
I want to let go and know that I'll be alright, alright
Just push me 'til I have to fly
I've shed my skins, my scars
take me deep out past the lights
where nothing dims these stars
nothing dims these stars
I want to feel the car crash
I want to feel it capsize
I want to feel the bomb drop, the earth stop 'til I'm satisfied
I want to feel the car crash
'cause I'm dying on the inside
I want to let go and know that I'll be alright, alright
it's all right
it's all wrong
I'm wide awake and so alive
I want to feel the car crash
I want to feel it capsize
I want to feel the bomb drop, the earth stop 'til I'm satisfied
I want to feel the car crash
'cause I'm dying on the inside
I want to let go and know that I'll be alright, alright
'cause I'm open wide
so wide
so wide
ringing like a bell
tell this is paradise
not some place I fell
'cause I keep falling down
I want to feel it capsize
I want to feel the bomb drop, the earth stop 'til I'm satisfied
'cause I'm dying on the inside
I want to let go and know that I'll be alright, alright
I've shed my skins, my scars

I think that the first verse is about those nights when you can't sleep, And you can hear things going through your mind, And then those few moments of happiness come before you remember again.
'I wanna feel a car crash, I wanna feel it capsize I wanna feel a bomb drop, the earth stop, till I'm satisfied... cause I'm dying on the inside I wanna let go and know that I'll be alright, alright.'
I think that this is saying that he is bottling up so many emotions, that he has collective over a long period of time, reached breaking point, and now wishes that something could happen so he could let them go, however, the second verse of the chorus to me seems like he is questioning his faith in god. Because he says 'I wanna let go and know that I'll be alright' It's like he wants to let go of the steering wheel of his life and have total trust, but by sayign thats what he wants, he's saying, that maybe he doesn't have that much faith.
Then in the second verse, he's reiterating the fact that he wants to be pushed to the edge, so he can let go of his emotions 'nothing dims these stars' its that feeling of 'how come you never feel sad?' But by saying they're stars, in a way it's admiration.
I feel like it's about having to go through the hard to find and be able to feel the good in life.
This is about someone who is depressed and maybe apathetic because of it. He wants desperately to feel something again and what is more jarring than a car crash or bomb dropping, etc.? He isn't speaking literally, obviously, but he wants something of that magnitude to occur so he can feel the pain and see if he can get through it.
I think this song is more about him being sad or depressed because bad stuff has happened and he just wants something big to happen so that he knows it's all real. I dunno, that's just what it means to me...
This song, to me anyways, is about bottling up emotions. It's a tendency guys have. He's bottling up everything, and the minute he let's it all go it's like a car crash of emotions.
i think it IS about bottling up emotions, but its probably more. like i think that he wants to feel something, feel the adrenaline, get that high that comes with danger. like maybe he wants to be in a car crash so he can feel alive.

Amazing, I think this is one of the best and strongest songs he's ever made. Can't wait for the album
this song is incredible. it's full of emotion. amaaaaaazing.
"Just push me 'til I have to fly I've shed my skins, my scars take me deep out past the lights where nothing dims these stars nothing dims these stars"
I can't figure out what that means. Does he just push me so i can get through this and feel better? i'm not sure. Does anyone know?
I don't really know this is just my interpretation "so push me 'til I have to fly" persuade him to do things he wouldn't normally do

"I've shed my skin, my scars" He's a new person, he doesn't want his past to affect his future

"Take me deep out past the lights" Do things he's never done before or has been afraid to do

"Where nothing dims these stars" where things mean more, are less materialistic perhaps?

i love this song. pure amazement. fave song by him.
I wonder if he's ever been in a car crash. I know we're not supposed to take this literally, sure, it's a metaphor... but I can't help but relate it to whenever you're in an accident that could have gone horribly but you end up alright...
