Let it go
Let it roll right off your shoulder
Don't you know?
The hardest part is over
Let it in
Let your clarity define you
In the end
We will only just remember how it feels

Our lives are made
In these small hours
These little wonders
These twists and turns of fate
Time falls away
But these small hours
These small hours still remain

Let it slide
Let your troubles fall behind you
Let it shine
'Til you feel it all around you
And I don't mind
If it's me you need to turn to
We'll get by
It's the heart that really matters in the end

Our lives are made
In these small hours
These little wonders
These twists and turns of fate
Time falls away
But these small hours
These small hours still remain

All of my regret
Will wash away some how
But I cannot forget
The way I feel right now

In these small hours
These little wonders
These twists and turns of fate
Yeah, these twists and turns of fate
Time falls away
Yeah, but these small hours
And these small hours
Still remain, yeah
Oh, they still remain
These little wonders
Oh, these twists and turns of fate
Time falls away
But these small hours
These little wonders
Still remain

    Memory

For us, it means so much because it belongs to a movie our mentally handicapped son watched right before he died. He immediately wanted the soundtrack--this song. This song so speaks to us, now, like he knew he was going to leave us, giving us advice on how to deal with it all. "All of our regret will wash away somehow." He was so, so special. Many of his favorite songs are very special now. But this one, the most. He had a very special heart, and it's the heart that really matters in the end.

    Memory

This song has a very personal meaning to me. A dear friend of mine passed away in a car accident almost a year ago. She was the sweetest, most sincere, talented, and fun person I've ever met. I wanted to be just like her. After her funeral service, a slideshow/video of her was shown, with pictures of her growing up, living life, and doing what she loved most- figure skating and playing the violin. This song was played with the video. LET IT GO, LET IT ROLL RIGHT OFF YOUR SHOULDER, DON'T YOU KNOW, THE HARDEST PART IS OVER. Let the sadness go. whatever pain you are in, let it go. for me, it was to let my grief go, don't remember her and cry, remember her and smile. IN THE END, WE WILL ONLY JUST REMEMBER HOW IT FEELS. if we focus on the pain in our lives, that's all we'll get out of it. remember the good, if small, moments. OUR LIVES ARE MADE, IN THESE SMALL HOURS, THESE LITTLE WONDERS, THESE TWISTS AND TURNS OF FATE. TIME FALLS AWAY, BUT THESE SMALL HOURS, THESE LITTLE WONDERS, STILL REMAIN. If you've ever lost a loved one, you'll find you have thousands of small memories of moments you've spent with these people. sometimes these are just smiles or laughs, or moments of understanding, but it's what you remember the best after they're gone. these are the small wonders and hours of our lives. they may not seem like much in the grand scheme of things, but it's what matters in the end. as for the twists and turns of fate- life changes. always. and you can either fight it and fight it and fight it, or learn to roll with it and enjoy the ride as best as you can. LET IT SLIDE. LET YOUR TROUBLES FALL BEHIND YOU, LET IT SHINE, UNTIL YOU FEEL IT ALL AROUND YOU, AND I DON'T MIND, IF IT'S ME YOU NEED TO TURN TO, WE'LL GET BY, IT'S THE HEART THAT REALLY MATTERS IN THE END. this is about letting go of regrets. remember those good feelings of those good moments- let them surround you in warmth. forget yourself once in awhile- we are all facing trials, and sometimes the best help for yourself is to help others. two is stronger than one. and the last line- it's what's inside you that really matters in the end. ALL OF MY REGRET, WILL WASH AWAY SOMEHOW, BUT I CANNOT FORGET, THE WAY I FEEL RIGHT NOW. after my friend's death- i knew i'd never forget that pain i was feeling, but i also knew that i'd heal, and my regrets of not telling her how wonderful she was and how much i treasured her as a friend wouldn't bother me if i could forgive myself.

That's My interpretation of this song. It's kinda personal, yes, but i hope you can see what i mean and understand. (i also hope you respect that this was hard to write, so don't be mean- we all have opinions, and not all of us agree) if this touched you at all, i'd love to know. thanks for reading! :)

I'm surprised that more people have not commented on this song. It's absolutely beautiful. I agree with nocrossingjordan about the meaning of this song. Those short but extraordinary moments make us into who we are, we never forget them. Sometimes it's so hard to let go of a moment that was so precious to you. If you want to move on you have to let go, and that is the hardest part.

i guess the song is trying to tell people to treasure the small moments in life that really mould you to what you are, and not to take them for granted. for the horrible things that happened, to let go of it, and move on, but at the same time holding on to precious moments in life.

i'm not really sure if i'm correct, but i LOVE this song!

This song really confirmed the way I've been feeling since a recent break up - the hardest part is over - that initial chemical withdrawal of those incredible 'in love' endorphins - sorry, is that a drab, unromantic interpretation of love? - and yeah, sure, grief isn't a linear process, but every little triumph, every small moment where I do choose between negativity and believing for a great future regardless, these little wonders, moments of strength and resilience that no one sees but me, the clarity that comes with a clean break instead of continually returning to get that momentary rush again, all of these I let define me.

i think its a love song or one to have to do with your friends, "let it go, let it roll right off your shoulder, don't you know the hardest part is over" is pretty much like your having a fight between two people or many, we only have so many hours to live so live it up and make the best of wat you have with anyone. treasure all the precious times you all spent together life is short so just make the best of it, this song is pretty much like my motto: live life to the fullest, its gonna have its hard times but just keep going and live it up because life is like a roller coaster it has its twist and turns of fate, charish all those great times you have because they'll be the best times of your life, and love the ones who love you back because their the ones who will be there for you.

Hi, Everyone. I interpreted this song quite a bit differently from all of the comments already posted. At the beginning of the song, it seems as if a a major event in a person's life has just ended. From there, the writer points out that no matter how things may have turned out, not only relating to the most recent events but also those in a person's past, in the long run, a person will only remember how he or she felt.

The little points in an event won't be important in the future, and how a person feels matter much more. The writer doesn't seem to care about the big things or the little things, but that "the heart," or how one feels, is what "really matters in the end."

Thanks to my girlfriend for letting me know about this song. She was singing it while the ending credits of Meet the Robinsons were rolling. I just really heard this song today for the very first time.

This may sound crazy but since I am 7 months pregnant, every song reminds me of something baby related. Anyhow, since this is my first child I do not know what to expect & am a little freaked out by the whole process. When I heard "little wonders" I started to think that this would be a fabulous song to listen to after our baby is born. The first verse is what grabbed my attention, "the hardest part is over, let it in" I just started thinking that he could be talking about the moment in life where you meet your child for the first time & that all the pain & hard work it took to get to that point don't matter at all in comparison to the joy you will feel in the first moments you have with that "little wonder." I guess that's probably wishful thinking on my part - trying to not freak out to bad :)

I think the song is referring to adversity in general that happens throughout life. For example - someone is passed over for a job promotion that they really wanted. The lyrics remind us that the pain and frustration is fleeting but what is important is your reaction to the adversity and how you let it affect you/shape you.

The song is about a lot of things.

Mainly, he's talking about examining your life when it comes to an end. That the failures and successes in life are what define you, but let the failures go, because how you felt during the successes is all that really matters in this short time we are granted.

These twists and turns of fate are things that seem insignificant at the time but and are, but they aren't when combined with other events.

If anyone has seen Mr. Destiny with James Belushi knows exactly what I mean.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

No Surprises

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
