Now it seems to me
That you know just what to say
But words are only words
Can you show me something else?
Can you swear to me
That you'll always be this way?
Show me how you feel
More then ever, baby

I don't want to be lonely no more
I don't want to have to pay for this
I don't want another lover at my door
It's just another heartache on my list
I don't want to be angry no more
You know I could never stand for this (woah)
So when you tell me that you love me, know for sure
I don't want to be lonely anymore

Ooh, whoa
Ooh, whoa
Oh, oh
Oh, oh-ooh-oh-whoa
Ooh, whoa
Ooh, whoa
Oh, oh
Oh, oh-ooh-oh-whoa

Now it's hard for me
When my heart's still on the mend
Open up to me
Like you do your girlfriends
And you sing to me
And it's harmony
Girl, what you do to me is everything
Make me say anything, just to get you back again
Why can't we just try?

I don't want to be lonely no more
I don't want to have to pay for this (woah)
I don't want another lover at my door (woah)
It's just another heartache on my list
I don't want to be angry no more (woah)
You know I could never stand for this (woah)
So when you tell me that you love me, know for sure
I don't want to be lonely anymore

Ooh, whoa
Ooh, whoa
Oh, oh
Oh, oh-ooh-oh-whoa
Ooh, whoa
Ooh, whoa
Oh, oh

What if I was good to you?
What if you were good to me?
What if I could hold you 'till I feel you move inside of me?
And what if it was paradise?
And what if we were symphonies?
What if I gave all my life to find some way to stand beside you?

I don't want to be lonely no more
I don't want to have to pay for this (woah)
I don't want another lover at my door (woah)
It's just another heartache on my list
I don't want to be angry no more (woah)
You know I could never stand for this (woah)
So when you tell me that you love me, know for sure
I don't want to be lonely anymore

Ooh, whoa
Ooh, whoa
Oh, oh
Oh, oh-ooh-oh-whoa
Ooh, whoa
Ooh, whoa
I don't want to be lonely anymore (oh, oh) (oh, oh-ooh-oh-whoa)
I don't want to be lonely no more (ooh, whoa) (ooh, whoa)
I don't want to be lonely no more (oh, oh) (oh, oh-ooh-oh-whoa)
No, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't
I don't want to be lonely anymore

funny how the site called "SongMeanings.Com" managed to become just another "here's my opinion agree or die" site, huh? hmm....

On one hand, it's got a great tune, Rob is a great singer, and he looked totally hot in the music video. On the other hand, I hope this was a one-time thing and he'll go back to the singer I adore for songs such as "Unwell." Remember what happened to the Black-Eyed Peas?

I hate when people say that an artist sold out just because the musical sound is different. What's the point of making a solo record if it's just going to sound exactly like the music he makes with his band. I think he just wanted to grow musically by trying something new.

ophelia52 your talking like you know him personally or something. People have more than just one side to them. Why can't he be able to write deep emotional songs and songs that are catchy and fun?

I actually like this song. It's catchy...and I'll admit the lyrics aren't that great...but it sounds awesome driving 70 down I-635. haha. Besides, it's OK if an artist you like makes a song you don't like...it doesn't mean they sold out...(which is, by the way, so high school). And violet085 has a point...if his solo album sounded like MB20...then that would mean that the band didn't have a unique sound to start with. I guess my point is that change isn't bad.

Agreed. Rob's gone a bit poppish, but this song is still great! :) Still has the gorgeous husky voice i fell in love with right from the start!

I know what you are all saying and i agree to an extent, however i agree to disagree. MB20 have some good songs that get old after a while but thats just my opinion. Smooth i thought was an amaizing song. This new song is completely different than anything that he has ever done, and i believe thats good. I personally think its a great catchy song. What i like about it, is that he is doing someting different. I personally didnt think he could sing a song with this kind of a beat and lyrics. I think all of you are being really narrow minded about his music. You just dont understand the other type of music. BTW he sounds nothing like Justin. Justin is pure techno with beat boxing and really pointless singing. This song has SOME meaning. I dunno just my 2 cents.

OK...I'll admit that my first impression of this song was one of shock and horror, how could he??? But it is a catchy song and I admit I like it, somewhat. Rob Thomas has been experimenting with different styles and sounds all along...More Than You Think You Are sounds nothing like Mad Season , and neither come close to Yourself Or Someone Like You. Call it progression, maybe regrssion in this case, or selling out if you want, but I think that it just speaks to the flexibility and versatility of Rob's talent. BTW, my screen name is referring to my husband, not Mr. Thomas.

The first time I heard this song, I loved it. Outright adored it. And I thought about how great it was that a pop singer finally had some depth, and how his voice was as gorgeous as Rob Thomas's. Then I found out it was by Rob Thomas. That's right. I, one of Matchbox 20's biggest fans, couldn't even RECOGNIZE him. I just thought it was a similar voice. It's still a good song. Just don't go comparing it to "Unwell" (Guess what my favorite Mb20 song is)
