My Interpretation Lyrics
You talk about life, you talk about death
And everything in between
Like it's nothing and the words are easy
You talk about me, you talk about you
And everything I do
Like it's somethin' that needs repeating
I don't need an alibi
For you to realize
The things we left unsaid
Are only taking space up in our heads
Make it my fault, win the game
Point the finger, place the blame
And toss me up and down
Doesn't matter now
Cause I don't care if I ever talk to you again
This is not about emotion
I don't need a reason not to care
What you say, or what happened in the end
This is my interpretation
And it don't, don't make sense
The first two weeks turn into ten
I hold my breath and wonder when it'll happen
It doesn't really matter
If half of what you said is true
And half of what I didn't do could be different
Would it make you better?
If we forget the things we know
Would we have somewhere to go?
The only way is down
I can see that now
Cause I don't care if I ever talk to you again
This is not about emotion
I don't need a reason not to care
What you say, or what happened in the end
This is my interpretation
And it don't, don't make sense
Is splitting up such a sacrifice?
If I every talk to again
This is not about emotion
I don't need a reason not to care
What you say, or what happened in the end
This is my interpretation
And it don't, don't make sense
And it don't have to make no sense to you at all
Cause this is my interpretation
And everything in between
Like it's nothing and the words are easy
And everything I do
Like it's somethin' that needs repeating
For you to realize
The things we left unsaid
Are only taking space up in our heads

This is an awesome song. It's could not just relationships breaking up, but also other types of break ups for fights. Such as friends, parents/children and just everyday stuff. I really think this is a good inspirational song.
i like this song...it's a bit calmer than Mika's other songs....which is a breath of fresh air I think :)
I think this gives a different point of view to breaking up...it shouldn't always be so hard, if it's over, why make it any harder...or that's what I get out of it anyway :D
I think this song is about splitting up and how you should be calm about it... I think...
I think it's about what happened that led to breaking up. Who did what, who's fault is it. Pointing fingers at each other. Bad communication leads to misunderstandings, and two interpretations of "what happened". Things they didn't say to each other stays on their minds, wondering about the "what if". In the song he sings about him not caring anymore about what the other person thinks, he has his interpretation which probably is very different from the other person. But he doesn't care and that's all there is to it. But that's what I get out of it. :)
this song... ...just points out all my stoopid faults
cheers MIKA! in a non mean way! ...i needed that, the clingy moron that i am
...do you think his 'relax' song might also be influenced by this particular relationship? :-S
i hated this song at first but then i listened again and now i love it. is he actually gay?
it was the unspoken fact for a long time, though Mika had said in an interview in 2009 : "I've never ever labelled myself. But having said that; I've never limited my life, I've never limited who I sleep with... Call me whatever you want. Call me bisexual, if you need a term for me..." It wasn't until 2012 that he officially came out of the closet (hate that saying by the way, it makes them seem different) But in response to your question, yes he is gay

Very real song, definitely about staying strong in a break up and the events leading up to it.
"You talk about life, you talk about death And everything in between Like it's nothing and the words are easy" This quote is kinda random compared to the rest of the song, and I think that the purpose of it is to illustrate the character this song develops.
"Make it my fault, win the game Point the finger, place the blame And toss me up and down Doesn't matter now" "If half of what you said is true And half of what I didn't do could be different Would it make you better?" I love how facetious and mocking these two segments are, almost makes me laugh.
"The first two weeks turn into ten I hold my breath and wonder when it'll happen It doesn't really matter" I'm not sure what this line means, help?
"This is my interpretation And it don't, don't make sense" At first this line confused me "And it don't have to make no sense to you at all Cause this is my interpretation" But this line explained it. Once again, the line is sarcastic, and when he says that "it don't make sense" he really means that it makes sense to him, and he doesn't care whether it makes sense to the character he is talking to. Almost like, "Whatever, it doesn't make sense, idc" lol
I'm pretty sure this song is about someone letting you down. And you're just tired of them and finally you're like, "I don't care about you anymore." And for once you just don't want to see them ever again. It could be getting into a fight with someone you have loved in past.
The song's called, "My Interpretation." Could this possibly mean you could interpret it anyway you want. In that case everyone else who commented is right. Ooh, loophole!

One of my favourites on the album. Is anyone know about his Europe tour?
