I don't think you know how much time I spend
As I wait on my own contemplating ends
I am torn in the middle of a world that won't let loose

I hang here before you, though invisible the noose
I love you if you drink; I love you if you smoke
I love you for the words you stuck inside my throat

I love you for the sin; and the way you turned away
And I'll heal you in the darkness
And I'll hold you to the day

All you are now is only just a dream
Can you fall down in following me?
All you are now is only just a dream
Can you fall down in following me?

And I walk up those steps
Where we used to go at night
And my fingers trace the stairwell

And I am back in time
I just need your warmth to lay with me and find
All you are now is only just a dream
Can you fall down in following me?
All you are now is only just a dream
Can you fall down in following me?

There are days that I go driving, Dad
When the memory gets too strong
So I can go on living to the beauty of our song
I fall in to your rhythm, your beauty I do fly
I rush into your melody, I linger till I die
All you are now is only just a dream
Can you fall down in following me

All you are now is only just a dream
Can you fall down in following me?
And I've been here with the pain

Since the very first day
I've been swearing in my rage
"Oh Holy Day!"
I sit around, your salvation waits
I'm just getting nervous, babe
As I anticipate

All you are now is only just a dream
Can you fall down in following me?
All you are now is only just a dream
Can you fall down in following me?

I am very surprised that nobody has commented on this yet. I first heard this song on rescue me and I had to find out who sang it just because the voice and lyrics are so powerful. I think it does a great drop in illustrating a lost relationship between a father and child. You can almost put yourself in the writers situation

Meh see I'm not sure what this song could be about... I wouldn't really say its about a father and a son depicted by the lyrics shown...i think it could be about ANYBODY...

I too first heard this song on Rescue Me and thought it was amazing. I'm going to qualify my interpretation of this song by saying I am not a religious person, but know a lot about religion.

I believe this song to be about a conversation between a man (who use to be a follower) and God with regards to his salvation and handing his life over to God again.

Verse: I don't think you know how much time I spend As I wait on my own contemplating ends I am torn in the middle of a world that won't let loose I hang here before you, though invisible the noose

Man: (Means he's been feeling convicted lately and is considering going back to God but enjoys his life of sin too much, he's torn in the middle.)

Verse: I love you if you drink; I love you if you smoke I love you for the words you stuck inside my throat I love you for the sin; and the way you turned away And I'll heal you in the darkness And I'll hold you to the day

God:( God is saying he's going to love the man no matter what, and that he will wait until he is ready.)

Chorus: All you are now is only just a dream Can you fall down in following me? All you are now is only just a dream Can you fall down in following me?

God: (God is saying that the man is his creation and is only real if he is with God, and asks him to fall on his knees and start to follow him.)

Verse: And I walk up those steps Where we used to go at night And my fingers trace the stairwell And I am back in time I just need your warmth to lay with me and find

Man: (The man is reminded of the times he used to go to church and the comfort he felt and wishes he could feel that warmth again.)

Bridge: There are days that I go driving, Dad When the memory gets too strong So I can go on living to the beauty of our song I fall in to your rhythm, your beauty I do fly I rush into your melody, I linger till I die

Man: (Dad refers to his the almighty father which is God. He feels like he needs to follow again so he can feel that comfort - he uses words like beauty, rhythm and melody to symbolize the peace of being with God.)

Bridge: And I've been here with the pain Since the very first day I've been swearing in my rage "Oh Holy Day!" I sit around, your salvation waits I'm just getting nervous, babe As I anticipate

God: (God has been waiting for him since he's been born, quietly yelling trying to get his attention letting him know that his salvation is on the line. Now he's getting nervous because he feels the man getting close to coming back to him. Babe is a reference to the fact we are all God's children and he sees us all as helpless babes.)

Let me know what you think.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
