Breakdown Lyrics
Open up the book you beat me with again.
Read it off one sentence at a time.
I'm tired of all the lines,
Convictions and your lies.
What right do you have to point at me?
Well, I'm sitting alone thinking about it all over coffee.
And still crowdin' my space are the things you still hold against me.
You cannot save me.
Well, it's not the time to breakdown.
It's not the time to breakdown.
It's not the time to break up this love,
Keep it together now.
It's not the time to break.
Read it all, no need for separating here.
You see what you want and try to justify.
All your little lines,
Convictions and your lies.
What right do you have to point at me?
Well, I'm sitting alone thinking about it all over coffee.
And still crowdin' my space are the things you still hold against me.
You cannot save me.

I think the song is about divorce. It sounds like "the book" is the huge stack of divorce papers that she filed for. Sitting reading over all of it over coffee trying to digust it all. He dosen't want it to happen and he wants to still try to save the marriage. Thats just my little spin on it.
definately one of my favorite songs off the album; i also think it's about divorce or someone telling something to someone about how to do a certain thing/what to do etc. but then not doing it themselves.
This is a pretty good song. Obviously about someone trying not to break off their relationship, just because things aren't working out.
i think this song (which is really good by the way :D ) is aboutt someone trying to hold in all of their emotions justt long enough for them to work things out.
This song is about religion, as chris says on an interview on napster. The book is the bible and the first line is about people who use it to try and beat the ideas into you.The song is about everyone interpreting the bible diffrently and using the parts they like "Read it off no need for seperating it, you see what you want and try to justify, all your little lines, convictions, and your lies." The he talks about the people who point him out because he's not perfect "why do you have to point at me?" The chorus is about keeping his relationship with God alive and not breaking down. The original chorus for this song was different and i think it went along better with the meaning "No, I cannot fill the void with what you're shoving on me. If you don't know the truth, how can you say you know me? If all this is wrong, I'll find out on my own. So don't kill me inside, I'm trying to live,I'm trying to live. how is this helping me? I'm trying to live, trying to live"
This chorus was in the original song titled "Conviction"
