Shadows fill an empty heart
As love is fading,
From all the things that we are
But are not saying.
Can we see beyond the scars
And make it to the dawn?

Change the colors of the sky.
And open up to
The ways you made me feel alive,
The ways I loved you.
For all the things that never died,
To make it through the night,
Love will find you.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

The sun is breaking in your eyes
To start a new day.
This broken heart can still survive
With a touch of your grace.
Shadows fade into the light.
I am by your side,
Where love will find you.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love had never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

Now that we're here,
Now that we've come this far,
Just hold on.
There is nothing to fear,
For I am right beside you.
For all my life,
I am yours.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love had never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love had never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

This song is about feelings, a will of people to return everything back, like it was in the past. People recall moments of happiness which they had and now miss so much. Now, after splitting up - they think, were they really the 2 halves of one heart? two halves of one life... as the couple is apart they do now what to do... the guy wants to return everything back and tries to persuade the girl. But he remains being along, he is depressed that is why the title here "what about now, what about today.." One of the greatest songs i've ever heard.

to me it's significance is a couple that really loved one another and for whatever reasons broke apart. Realizing they still love one another....what about NOW. Good song

to me this song is about me and my ex. been my ex for 5 months now. It's about loving someone and you had to break up. you didnt want to break up but at the time you didnt really have much of a choice. your both still friends but your acting like you dont love each other cause you dont want to show it. This song is about knowing you still love them and Realizing they might still love you too, or like you at least. so it's like What about now? What if your making me all that I was meant to be? What if our love never went away? What about now?.....

this song totally describes my relationship right now. It's kind of bumpy, and we almost broke up last night. But, I know that there is more between us that we're not letting through, and I love him more than anything. I couldn't bare to lose him.

    Song Meaning

After watching the video to daughtry's what about now, i strongly believe that the song is about making a difference in the world. The society we live in today, people are denying the fact that they can make a difference. That each one of us is the difference. Every little thing we do to help someone in need makes a difference. Also, people need to try to look past other peoples pasts and give them second chances. And most important, love. Everyone wants it, everyone needs it. So give it. Love isnt love til you give it away. Help people that need you. Before it's to late. Thats what i think this song is saying.

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
