i've been told that this is referencing their music (they do it by themselves) and people not respecting it. whatever it means, it's now my favorite song. so sad.

i think this song is talking about how today, kids don't live how they used to. society is too controling and we have less freedom now. i think thats what it means anyway... (:

anybody knows what D I Y means?? maybe stupid question, but I can't imagine...

blue peter is a television show created by bbc. this may or may not be what they are talking about, but i dont really like this song haha

in blue peter, they had competitions on who made the best things...out of stuff like toilet roll tubes and yoghurt pots. when this generation were growing up, they all wanted their stuff on the show, and were really proud of their stuff etc... i think it's a nostalgic song, but also talking about their music at the moment...don't want their style stolen now, don't want their amateur blue peter creations made fun of :P

umm...i think it's just making fun of pretentious people. i can't imagine any other proper justification for the line "i heart my art" also they're saying "my work's won kiddie competitions" much like many pretentious people who are all like "well, i'm obviously better than you, pecause i was in so & so magazine, i mean yeah, it was when i was 9, but still, i am sooooo cool". and then they say: "grown up, want only child attention" which is a pretty perfect desription of the mentality of all those pretentious 20somethings that grew up in such sheltered environment, they don't know how to deal with the worl, and just push everyone away by being such a snob. also, they talk in french, and all the pretentious kids where i'm from are always like: "oh look i can say this in french, i totally tought myself. wow, watch me like, french inhale my cigarette. wow, i am so cool and french."

i love the way in the chorus everything that is said in English is said in French. made me really love French
