Je respire l'air doux de la cité
Cité, cité ah-ah

Et m'excites avec ton look risqué!
Tu m'excites avec ton looook!

La nuit
Cette nuit
Oh nuit - ho la nuit sans fin!

La nuit
Cette nuit
Oh nuit - ho la nuit sans fin!

Cherche la tombe de Gainsbourg à six heures
Six heures, six heures ah-ah
Nos coeurs cocaine à Montparnasse
Coca, coca ah-ah
On assassine un de ces airs!
Ces airs, ces airs ah-ah
'Joue à cache cache 'vec le matin
Jouns à cache cache!

La nuit
Cette nuit
Oh nuit - ho la nuit sans fin!

La nuit
Cette nuit
Oh nuit - ho la nuit sans fin!

La nuit
Cette nuit
Oh nuit - ho la nuit sans fin!

La nuit
Cette nuit
Oh nuit - ho la nuit sans fin!

La nuit
Cette nuit
Oh nuit - ho la nuit sans fin!

La nuit
Cette nuit
Oh nuit - ho la nuit sans fin!

No, the slang word for penis is "bite" (as your verb "to bite"). "Le beat" simply means "the beat". No mystery at all about this sentence :)

Then, "flasher" could mean "to fall in love at first sight" but there is another meaning. You could use "flasher" when you're high on crack or something else (not necesarely) and you have hallucinations. You know : "est-ce un éléphant rose là en bas ou est-ce moi qui flashe ?" ("Is this a pink elephant or am I just "flashing" ?")

"Assasiner un de ces airs" means... to sing in an awfully way a melody (a famous one I guess, "un de ces" means one of thoses timeless melodies but I'm not sure). You know, when you are drunk and you try to sing a song (very loudly most of the time) but the result is awfull ?

And finally, "la tombe de Gainsbourg" is his grave. "Tombe" is "Tombeau", exactly the same meaning.

Oh sorry, my explanations were not clear.

We pronounce "bite" (in French, the jargon word for penis) quite as "beat" in English and not as "to bite" (as "this dog bite me"). You're totally right, gracefulstalker. I spoke about the way it is written (B-I-T-E).

And this is "LA bite" (feminine word) and not "LE bite" in french.

So the word in the song is "beat" (music). In France (and Belgium too), we often use english word like this one.

I am absolutely sure of it :)

might I add another explsination for flasher? :D

Could mean like flashing your boobs ( like lifting your top for a couple of seconds for a laugh)

I could quite easily imagine the Robots doing that of a Parisian balcony :D

that's very good. like me to fix your slightly odd bits?

I circulate in neon colours. I imagine myself in a french film. I seek the tomb of gainsbourg at six o'clock. Our cocaine hearts at montparnasse I play cache cache (which is a game a bit like hide and seek) with the morning. We play cache cache!

And I have got absolutely no idea what the flashing on paris balconies bit is meant to mean :)

It could literally mean flashing off of a balcony in Paris! It sounds like a hell of a night, and French is such a cool language to hear sung! It's really rounded, not harsh sounding like English is.

Funny that, before I saw the english translation, It reminded me of a club... or perhaps a night on the town. It also reminded me of Audrey Kitching (don't ask).

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
