in blue peter, they had competitions on who made the best things...out of stuff like toilet roll tubes and yoghurt pots. when this generation were growing up, they all wanted their stuff on the show, and were really proud of their stuff etc...
i think it's a nostalgic song, but also talking about their music at the moment...don't want their style stolen now, don't want their amateur blue peter creations made fun of :P
