Sleepers

K, I believe that the song has to do with self-knowledge, and true identity. The band comments on the way people tend to live their lives, "sleeping" through it instead of facing the "judgement" that concentrates below the surface. People like to think that "all we are is golden" rather than dealing with true feelings and falling outside of the comforts of what's expected.
Everyone around the narrator in the song is "saying something" but are they right, or do they just make excuses. The song mentions the notion of savoring something secretly--it could be criticizing those who are different in the public and alone; it could also be saying that it's good to be able to be someone that no one can really judge, someone mysterious and outside the normal. The song echoes sentiments from books that I've read such as The Awakening, with the notion of sleeping through life, and Invisible Man, with the notion of being unseen. But the song is ambiguous like a poem and i could be totally wrong, or I could be right about one aspect. Sorry to write a lot.

WHYY. WHYY. What's the purpose? It was perfect. What's the point in changing it? I've lost so much respect for Saosin, Cove in specific for rewriting great songs, since this album's been released.

yeah the demo was better then the what came out on the CD

but its definately about taking afternoon naps and what not.. and how rude it is to wake people up by playing pranks on them...

i like the demo better also but i respect saosin decision to change it its their song not ours if they want to change it to however they want they have every right to do so

it sounds to me somewhat like its about society what happened to us all, have we slept through it? everyone around us is changing so rapidly we think we may have lost time, or slept through it im not too sure tho, but thats wat i think at least
