    "numbheart "

Not only is that ignorant, it's a blatant display of your mediocrity as a human being. I myself don't believe in God and I think that God as a concept is preposterous.

That in no way should deny you from accepting the fac t that Norma Jean is in fact a Christian band. They're straight from the Bible belt. They also openly admit it.

I feel bad for your friends and family for having to know you personally.

xD The lyrics are so simple, it just makes the rest of the song so ghostly.

if you listen to this song long enough, it turns into a musical. the repeating of words sorta makes them sound like an instrument. i also believe the words are about someone dieing and they want them to 'wake up'

I talked to Daniel, the drummer, at a show last fall, and he told me that they had taken inspiration for this song from a book by A.W. Tozer.

Basically, it's directed to us Christians. We need to wake up and realize that we have the opportunity to tell others about our Redeemer.

'No passenger, no parasite' is the blunt reminder that those without Jesus as their Savior are going to be separated from Him for eternity in hell.

i'm sorry you feel that way numbheart. i really like this song because it says so much in so few of words. i agree with what Gunwhale already said but i have a different interpretation of it.

the "No Passenger, No Parasite" could also be translated to the fact that Satan is like a parasite seeking to destroy us but he can only harm us if we let him. if we don't give him the chance, he can't harm us. we need to wake up to the things around us and not become numb to the things of this world.

but i like your interpretation too...

numbheart; its very tough to think anything other then what you think. believe me, i struggle with that everyday. i am a christian; i am proud of what i believe, i will admit to what i believe but the way christianity especially is carried out in our civilization makes it increasingly difficult to take seriously or take on board. the only way christianity or Christ for that matter can be witnessed today is through "christians" and just because someone is a christian doesnt mean they are perfect, or even anywhere near it at times, so unfortunately this portrait of christianity is often tarnished by the very person trying to convey it to others. The only thing that gets my by this bitterness and train of thought is that what i believe in isnt dictated by my fellow christians or the people around me. It is from God, of God, to me. no-one else has anything to do with it. so any problem i have with anything is between me and God. and any if i have a problem with someone else, what they are doing, or what they believe i adopt the same approach i use for myself; that is is between them and God.

anyway, i just thought i would share that cause it seems like you have experienced hipocracy and imperfection through a believer. anyway, i hope it helped, anyone.

    WAKE UUUUUUUUUUP

If you don't except christ before you die or the rapture takes place, your just living life as you please, riding shotgun with the world, your just the unsaved world, a passenger with no direction. No Parasite, no false teachers of doctrine being destructive to the TRUE word sucking his own beliefs to make it fit there life. The false ministers who no one would ever suspect is just leeching anyone he can suck into all to get money with a false promises.

Oh boy. Another arguement over religion. Let people believe what they want to. It's quite retarded to argue with someone who thinks they're right. If they want to believe, good. If they don't, fine. Let it be.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
