Here We Are Lyrics
Sing it for me
I can't erase the stupid things I say
You're better than me
I struggle just to find a better way
So here we are
Fighting and trying to hide the scars
I'll be home tonight, take a breath and softly say goodbye
The lonely road, one that I try to walk alone
I'll be home tonight take a breath and softly say goodbye
You wouldn't like me
Keep moving on until forever ends
Don't try to fight me
The beauty queen has lost her crown again
So here we are
Fighting and trying to hide the scars
I'll be home tonight, take a breath and softly say goodbye
The lonely road, one that I try to walk alone
I'll be home tonight take a breath and softly say goodbye
Goodbye...
So why are you so eager to betray
Pick the pieces up
Pick the pieces up
So why are you the one that walks away
Pick the pieces up
Pick the pieces up
Pick the pieces up
Oh...
So here we are
Fighting and trying to hide the scars
I'll be home tonight, take a breath and softly say goodbye
The lonely road, one that I try to walk alone
I'll be home tonight take a breath and softly say goodbye
Just take a breath and softly say goodbye
I can't erase the stupid things I say
You're better than me
I struggle just to find a better way
Fighting and trying to hide the scars
I'll be home tonight, take a breath and softly say goodbye
The lonely road, one that I try to walk alone
I'll be home tonight take a breath and softly say goodbye
Keep moving on until forever ends
Don't try to fight me
The beauty queen has lost her crown again
Fighting and trying to hide the scars
I'll be home tonight, take a breath and softly say goodbye
The lonely road, one that I try to walk alone
I'll be home tonight take a breath and softly say goodbye
Pick the pieces up
Pick the pieces up
Pick the pieces up
Pick the pieces up
Pick the pieces up
Fighting and trying to hide the scars
I'll be home tonight, take a breath and softly say goodbye
The lonely road, one that I try to walk alone
I'll be home tonight take a breath and softly say goodbye

To me, this song is about a commited relationship between 2 people that has turned sour. When you first enter the relationship everything is seen through rose-colored glasses, but as time goes by, even though you still care deeply for that person, the love begins to fade. The couple begins to have arguements and obviously he is says things that he shouldn't and is mad at himself and thinks that perhaps the other person would be better off without him. But, he still loves that person deep down and wants to remain together. To me the chorus sounds like they have reached a crossroad in the relationship. The person can either decide to stay and remain in the relationship or leave. I think in the end the person has had enough with the relationship (betrayal, walk away) and walks away even though it hurts and he wants the person to stay.
I don't know if that's how others view this song, but that's how I see it.
the sad thing, is that if people knew how to truly love each other, this wouldnt happen... but love has been confused with feelings and sex. its a sad world we live in.

I think he's talking to someone he's fighting with... might be romantic, might be not... but either way, I think he's saying that he's willing to work it out but that the other might be eager to break ties. I think that 'why are you so eager to' is implying he knows something aobut the other's motives, and this is sort of a confrontation... "so people fight... so what? Whats so grave about this disagreement that causes you to react so harshly? Can't we just talk about this ... later when I get back from this show I have to go do."
There's one part that kind of throws off that whole "walking away" idea, though. What about when he says "I'll be home tonight, take a breath and softly say goodbye."
And I think this is just a song about a guy who keeps arguing with the girl he loves, about how she somehow betrayed him (Why are you so eager to betray?) and despite the fact that he's gettign a shit deal with her, he's still coming back to her, night after night.
Anyways, this song kicks some serious ass.
This Song gives me chills everytime I here it. Love this song!
I think this is about somebody in a relationship and they feel like their partner is better than them. And they keep saying stupid things. Maybe due to paranoia. The couple keep fighting, but nothing gets resolved. They just ignore it and try to forget about it. Finally, one of them realise that its not working. And they realise that they're going to have to let go of eachother. My opinion.
I believe scars is plural. Anyway, great song. I think it's about a fight between a couple, and the different emotions he experiences. The first verse sounds as if he's sorry for how he is sometimes, but he's struggling to find a better way. The second verse, however, is when he is angry and fighting with his lover. "The beauty queen has lost her crown again" sounds like a sarcastic line, one that would go nicely with a sneer. Now the chorus. So here we are. Fighting and trying to hide the scars I'll be home tonight, take a breath and softly say goodbye The lonely road, one that I try to walk alone I'll be home tonight take a breath and softly say goodbye First part's obvious, they're fighting and trying to hide the scars that their arguments have caused, trying to act as if they don't care. The second pair of lines says that despite the fights, there's times when they still love each other. And the next part he's talking about means he needs to be on his own for a while. Perhaps the lonely road refers to the road to forgiveness? Seeing how many fights are never resolved, it's likely that this would be a pretty lonely road. So why are you so eager to betray Pick the pieces up Pick the pieces up.
So why are you the one that walks away Pick the pieces up Pick the pieces up Pick the pieces up Maybe at first, she was the one trying to stop the fighting, but now she just wants their relationship to end. That's just my idea of this song. but no matter how you look at it, it's an awesome song.
Despire the lacking lyrics on this site, its ana amazing song :D
I'm not certain where I picked up this song, but I got to lovin' it. I'm not sure what it is about it, but it is so pleasant to listen to.
I listen to it while I do homework, I listen to it while I pull weeds, I listen to 'Driven' by Sevendust when I move the furniture around for no reason, and I listen to this when I eat granola bars. It simply gets me through anything, good or bad.
One of the best on Phobia. Obviously about a relationship that (I think) he eventually wants to fix; "Pick the pieces up". Great song.
This is one of my favs on Phobia (besides Breath). It's a sad love song imo.
