Lonely Train Lyrics

Big train rolling down the line
Makes me lonely
Sometimes I wish to ride away
Sometimes I want to ride away
Yeah

Big plane flying through the clouds
Makes me worry
Sometimes I wish to fly away
Sometimes I want to fly away

But you can't judge a book
Looking at the cover
You can't love someone
While messing with another
No, you can't win a war
Fighting with your brother
You wanna have peace
Gotta love one another

Big guns lighting up the sky
Makes me worry
Sometimes I wish to run away
Sometimes I want to run away

But you can't judge a book
Looking at the cover
You can't love someone
While messing with another
No, you can't win a war
Fighting with your brother
You wanna have peace
Gotta love one another

I have seen my brothers
In ashes on the ground
And maybe in a new life
We can turn this thing around

But you can't judge a book
Looking at the cover
You can't love someone
While messing with another
No, you can't win a war
Fighting with your brother
You wanna have peace
Gotta love one another

No you can't judge a book
Gotta love one another
Can't judge a book
No you can't judge a book

I think the whole "But you can't judge a book Looking at the cover" could be refering more to the war in the Middle East and how, to some people, we went there for more of stereotyping reasons. Just how some people assume that if someone is one race they're one way. Still going with the anti-war thing, but more of a reason as to why they could be anti-war. (I'm not trying to start anything political, just my opinion)

No one is really getting the major point here. It is not about being against the war. It really isn't about being anti-war at all.

When it says "Big planes flying in the sky, makes me worry....." then "sometimes, I wish to fly away" then "but you can't judge a book when looking at the cover...".

It is about having an opinion on the war. It is about everyone's opinion on the war. The ones who hate the idea that we are at war.... why do they? And the ones who love the fact that we are at war, why do they? They only see what is on TV. The planes in the sky, and the bombs in the air. The song basically states that everyone is seeing the few things that the media wants us to see. So they immediatley they make a decision based on a few things they have seen on TV in the past. We don't know the inside storys, we just see the "cover of the book" by listening to the media.

He says "Big plains flying in the sky makes me worry...BUT you can't judge a book when looking at the cover". He is saying that the things he hears and see make him nervous just like anyother person, but he isn't going to be making a biast opinion on the few small things he is seeing on television.

Which is more or less the opinion that I have, and have had on the war. I can't make my opinions based on Fox News, or CNN ect... So I am stuck with having no educated opinion on the war. SO I leave it alone. Anything the media tells us is bullshit. I never believe a thing the media tells me.

The bands point is, we all know nothing about this, but yet we are so judgemental an opinionated about it.

Mainly people see a couple things, and their minds are made up.

Its the band complaining about the ignorant people that know SO much, but yet know oh so little.

I absolutely love the chorus of this song. I can't quit get the meaning though.. the verses and the chorus seem to be talking about different things.

Definately seems anti-war (although I'm not sure what "Can't Judge a book looking at the cover" is supposed to mean).

JackR, is it still up for free download?

I think it's about being anti-war. We went to the Middle East thinking all of them are terrorists and such. We all know Bush is racist against the people in the Middle East. I think it's very Anti-war. It talks about loving each other, how we are all the same people, brothers and sisters. No one wants to see people dying because of a stupid war and such. It is very anti-war. I like this song. I like the meaning to it
