@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
She's the song that you tried to sing,
And the note that you couldn't hit.
So you locked her up in a music box,
And turned the key on all of us.
She spins silver strings in the dark,
With metal teeth that ring in her heart.
When the cover drops, the world just fades away from her waiting for her to say it:
[Chorus]
K-I-S-S I'm in distress,
I need someone to spell it out
You know our love's not unconditional.
A book of matches and a cigarette,
A love note that you never sent,
You can fold it up but you won't forget
You can strike a match but it still might not light
Now I'm the one stuck inside this silver cage,
The bird that can't fly away clips it's wings if it sings of the way, the way that it hurt
Waiting for her to say it:
[Chorus]
Low f-I-d-e-l-I-t-y do all love songs turn out this way? can't you hear me when I say:
You're in my heart, in my hands, around my neck.
We move like a carousel,
Streak lights and mirrors fill our eyes.
It's time to let this go,
But we can't stop spinning around
And the note that you couldn't hit.
So you locked her up in a music box,
And turned the key on all of us.
She spins silver strings in the dark,
With metal teeth that ring in her heart.
When the cover drops, the world just fades away from her waiting for her to say it:

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
I'm so happy they put this song on the record...I like it a lot better than the demo, it goes along with the whole feel of the album (now that I've listened to the whole thing) rather than the demo. "you're in my heart, in my hands, 'round my neck".........I LOVE Geoff's voice at that point. God damn, his voice sounds so good.
