Yeah yeah yeah
Julie was a long way from home
She can make alone look pretty
Her attitude made a part of her landscape
Riding her bike through alphabet city

She likes to party in the backseat, under the bridge on the Brooklyn side
Smoking cigarettes in the afterglow, taking bets till the sun won't rise
She said "what good is tomorrow without a guarantee?"
She can lick her lips and smile and make you want to believe

That the consequences of your actions really are just a game
That your life is just a chain reaction, taking you day by day
She says nothing's forever in this crazy world
Still I'm falling in love with the right now poster girl
(Right now right now ooh ooh ooh)

Julie likes to shop lift in stores
Right alongside the rich and famous
Get in elevators, press emergency stop
And make love on the floor until the camera made us

And no woman in the world ever made me feel like my heart's on fire
When she walked, I followed, when she laughed, I cried,
"What good is tomorrow without a guarantee?"
And I was wrapped around her finger, and I began to believe

That the consequences of your actions really are just a game
That your life is just a chain reaction, taking you day by day
She says nothing's forever in this crazy world
Still I'm falling in love with the right now poster girl

That the consequences of your actions really are just a game
That your life is just a chain reaction taking you day by day
She says nothing's forever in this crazy world (crazy world)
Still I'm falling in love with the right now poster girl

Tell me what you want from me
I've got everything you need
It's getting hard for me to breathe
Let me be your guarantee

That the consequences of your actions really are just a game (a game)
That your life is just a chain reaction taking you day by day (by day)
She says nothing's forever in this crazy world
Still I'm falling in love with the right now poster girl (poster girl)

That the consequences of your actions really are just a game (just a game)
That your life is just a chain reaction taking you day by day
She says nothing's forever in this crazy world (crazy world)
Still I'm falling in love with the right now poster girl

Right now, right now
Right now, oh oh oh
Poster girl
Poster girl
Come on, come on

I think a poster girl for something is someone who is the epitome of the thing. Like Oprah Winfrey would be the talk show poster woman since if there was a poster advertising talk shows, she would be on it. So Julie is a 'right now' poster girl. She's a girl who only lives for the present moment. She doesn't think of the consequences, she doesn't believe in waiting for the tomorrow that may not come, the sun that may not rise. She believes 'nothing's forever'. So she takes what she has and acts right now. She'll shoplift and smoke and party because they feel good right now and she doesn't worry about anything that will happen as a result of that. But since she believes the future is not important since there is no guarantee, she won't allow herself to get attached to the speaker who has fallen for her. He wants her to slow down and maybe commit to him and he's ready to give her everything. But she won't settle down because she doesn't believe that they have a future since she only lives for the here and now.

To me, Julie is a girl who lives for now, and doesn't stop to think about possible consequences. The speaker has fallen for her, and she basically tells him that she doesn't want to be in a relationship because nothing lasts forever, and you can't be certain that you'll have a tomorrow. So then the guy starts to believe her, and thinks 'what good is tomorrow without a guarantee?' and he basically starts to believe all the stuff she was saying. And then he says to her 'let me be your guarantee' meaning that he'll be her guarantee of a tomorrow. Ok, that doesn't really make a lot of sense :) and i kind of repeated myself. But yeah, hopefully that isn't too difficult to understand.

This song is the best on the album, I could not believe when I couldn't find this song on here. Just a great song about being sucked in by somebody who in your eyes, seems to be perfect. About someone who lives in the moment.

I definitely love this song, no questions about it. Only thing that is though, that I am trying to figure out what all those several lines that they made it up of are all about that make no sense. Examples: "She could make alone look pretty," "(...) the right now poster girl," (what's a RIGHT NOW poster girl? hehe), "And make love on the floor 'til the camera made us." Umm, made us what?? Hehe. I've been a BSB fan since the very beginning, but I'm just trying to figure out why this song has such odd lyrics. Any input anyone?

A poster girl is by my mother's definition an image of perfection. So what's basically being said, is that for right now, this girl is perfect.

A "right now" poster child (or girl) is one who epitomizes the "right now" lifestyle.. a.k.a somebody who lives in the moment. Young, wreckless, free, hedonism etc. This song is soaked in bittersweet nostalgia. Great song.

Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
