You say your hurting is over. It feels like you're back from the dead.
Still I can't believe it's over,
And I can't get your sight, your scent from my head.
It seems like these moments are lasting forever.
The times when we felt alive.
You carried my heart in the midst of this battle...in your hands.
This time I won't try to reach you. You're already too far gone.
Slipped past, and I didn't notice. Did we ever sing the same song?
Two lives. Two books of illusion. A chapter in the essence of time.
The story we wrote in one season came to an end in one night.
Remember the times when we started believing,
Everything would be alright?
You carried my heart in the midst of this battle...in your hands.
And I'll wait for you. I'll become something new.
And I'll sing for you. Until this dream comes true.

This song means an awful lot to me. It reminds me of the person who got me into Brightwood and I feel this song perfectly explains the way I felt at the end of the relationship.

'It seems like these moments are lasting forever.' - that line explains how everything reminded me of this person and everything we ever did played on repeat in my head.

'Slipped past, and I didn't notice. Did we ever sing the same song?' - the first part is pretty self explanitory in the way that I couldn't tell they were falling out of love and by the time I realised they'd gone too far for me to get them back, and the second part is how when I look back I wonder if we ever wanted the same thing out of the relationship.

'Remember the times when we started believing, Everything would be alright?' - reminds me of a particular night when they reassured me it'd be fine when I had my doubts and in the end those doubts were the ending.

And I'll wait for you. I'll become something new - that part is again self explanitory, to me it means that despite whats gone on at the end of the day I would take them back and I'd change for them.

I think this song is about a break up and how Person A "...won't try and reach..." Person B because they can see how distant they've become (physically or emotionally). The line "You carried your heart in the midst of this battle... in your hands" implies that Person B lost it's "drive" somewhere during their relationship. Also the little part in the beginning of the chorus "This time..." shows how their relationship has been rocky in the past and Person B may have left Person A several times before, but back then Person A pushed through and "won back" Person B's "love." But of course Person A isn't just going to let down their relationship that easily. "And I'll wait for you. I'll become something new." Person A is going to "change it's style" so the next time everything will be different and hopefully their "...dreams come true..."

this is the first song I ever heard by Brightwood, and I fell in love.

I think one element that is pretty obvious in this song is that it's about a breakup. and Brightwood conveys the PERFECT emotion with the music and the words as well as the vocals to create an atmosphere that fits together like a puzzle.

When it comes to the meaning of the song, I think something happened between a couple and they broke up. And the narrator (who I'm assuming is the guy) really doesn't want it to be over, hence "And I can't get your sight, your scent from my head."

The guy feels like even though he is devastated, there's no point in trying to fix anything with his significant other because she (or even he) is to the point of no return; the person doesn't want him back. With the line "Slipped past, and I didn't notice. Did we ever sing the same song?" I think whatever happened was the guy's fault, and he did it without even realizing. Like maybe he grew apart from her or he changed and wasn't the same person. He couldn't see it since it was him changing or growing apart, but she did. And he is wondering how she could let something like that break up something so important.

"The story we wrote in one season came to an end in one night." It seems as if they were together for about three months. And suddenly it just ended because of the reasons I said above. Unexpectedly. "Remember the times when we started believing, Everything would be alright?" Whatever the problem was had come up before and they had talked about it, the impression was made that there was faith that it wouldn't end. But it did... And with the closing lines it seems the guy, even though he feels he can't reach out to her and make any difference, he is still going to wait for her. He wants her back so badly, that he'll keep hoping for it until he can get her back.

It's a beautiful song, really...so much emotion packed into only a few minutes. It's perfect.

Ugh, I wish someone knew what she says in the beginning. All I can make out is:

Do you remember when we were younger?

this song makes me cry almost everytime i listen to it. ive been listening to it on repeat for the past three days or so, and it still has the same effect on me that it did when i first heard it.

i think the beginning is like the narrator recalling things this girl had said to him. all i can hear is like do you remember when i was younger? and like love... and i gave you everything, and i dont think i can... (which is later in the song). maybe he is replaying all the times they had discussed their problems, like when he says, "i cant get your sight, your scent from my head" and "remember the times when we started believing everything would be alright?". all he can think about is this girl and everything theyve done together. and no matter how hard he tries, he cant stop thinking about her.

brightwood is absolutely amazing at capturing emotion with such simple yet brilliant lyrics. its almost scary how directly this song relates to my life right now. every line has a connection. all ive been doing for the past few days is reliving the past few months, and i cant get it off of my mind and everything i do reminds me of it. "it seems like these moments are lasting forever"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
