Real Life Lyrics

Underrated, overstated real life.
Integrated, that's all right, just realise.
Exploited, ain't so jaded real life.
Dressed as conscience, masquerading.

I hope you noticed when I said it's not OK, and I know you're ready.
Into the rip, I'm heading out again.
Over my head, I can't get out of it.
Dial'n up, you know this story.
Turn your head the other way. Into the rip, I'm heading out again.
Over my head, I can't get out of it.

Underrated, overstated real life.
Integrated, that's all right, just realise.
Exploited, ain't so jaded real life.
Dressed as conscience, masquerading.

All those backward thoughts you're having,
got the low down sussed, evacuate.
The golden bus is running late.
Into the rip, I'm heading out again.
Over my head, I can't get out of it.

Firing line, firing line, firing line.
I realise real life.

And I hope you notice when I said it's not OK.
Those backward thoughts you're having, with the low down sussed, evacuate.
Into the rip.

OMFG 2nD COMMENT ON THIS FUKN BRILLIANT SONG WTF ok well anyways I think this song means alot but not quite sure yet, I think its similar to TOOL's LATERALUS.

STILL must find out the chinese song played right at the end of the track. That Chinese folk song may have alot to do with the meaning of this beautiful song.

i think it is somehow similar to Tool's Lateralus becuase, as you may know how Lateralus is experimental in a way seeing as it is linked with the fibonacci sequence.

Personally, as a musician, i have noticed that Real Life is somewhat experimental as the phrases are grouped in three bar patterns; very uncommon in most music.

Nahh, I highly doubt it's similar to Tool's Lateralus. As Lateralus is wayyy too complicated.

This song MAY be meaningful, as because of the "chinese" folk song in the end, but i really just think that ending tune is a tribal kind of thing.

Does anyone know what kind of influences COG has? If it's Tool, then yes, maybe similar to Tool's Lateralus (Although maybe not as good heh).

Cog's influence is Tool, Isis, Bob Marley & Leftfield.

This song has the same meaning as all of Cog's songs lol. They're all about the pointless nature of daily life. This song in particular is addressing what is more 'real' - the daily mockery of life that we each live out, or seeing outside that, transcending, to a REAL life without preconception.
