If you really gotta know, I'm not doing so good.
turned out to hurt more then I thought it would.

cuz i just can't handle losing you again
but the last thing i want is to just be friends
we've been through the same thing time and time again

Let's pretend.
(Let's pretend everythings fine)
put on our fake smiles and keep wasting our time
Let's pretend we're fine
Go out in style and come home in denile
let's pretend we're fine

If you really gotta kno, I'm not doing so good.
It hurt me way more then I thought it could.

Cuz I just can't handle losing you again
but the last thing i want is to just be friends
we've been through the same thing time and time again

Let's pretend.
(Let's pretend everythings fine)
put on our fake smiles and keep wasting our time
Let's pretend we're fine
Go out in style and come home in denile
let's pretend we're fine

lie to ourselves
lie to everyone else

take anymore of this make believe romance
is killing my make believe mind
(its killing my make believe mind)
but i rather pretend we're together
then know we're apart

Let's pretend.
(Let's pretend everythings fine)
put on our fake smiles and keep wasting our time
Let's pretend we're fine
Go out in style and come home in denile
let's pretend we're fine

this song is about a couple who are on and off ("Cause I just can't handle losing you again, but the last thing I want is to just be friends, We've been through the same thing time and time again") and the guy wants to stay together however the breakups with the girl are taking a large pyschological toll on him ("If you really gotta know, I'm not doing so good. It hurt me way more then I thought it could.")

geese this song like perfectly explains the relationship I'm in right now. To me it's like 2 people who broke up but neither one really wanted to. "If you really gotta no im not doin so good, hurt me way more than i thought it would" is obviously about the initial break up. Then he says he just wants to pretend it's fine and pretend they're together when they both know they really aren't. "put on our fake smiles and keep wastin our time" is them pretending they're happy with the place they're in when really it's all fake. "Go out in style and come home in denial" is about how they would go out and see eachother and every time think they'd have a great time together and find out that they don't think it could happen. Then every time they'd make up and pretend it never happened. "i can't take any more of this make beleive romance it's killing my make beleive heart" is that they're pretending together and he just can't take it anymore. But he thinks it's better to act like they're together than to know that it isn't working. Great song. I think this is the best of the songs by Plain White T's.

if you ask me it's about two people who broke up and got back together, but it was just strange so he wants to pretend everything's fine but really she wants to just end it and he can't really handle it because he feels like if they pretended just a little longer, it might become real again. he doesn't want to go through the pain of breaking up again because they both know what it's like and neither of them liked it but it takes a while to be able to go at a relationship again.

is it just me or are the vocals kind of crappy? I know it's only a demo version, but still. The chorus kind of makes me want to cringe, especailly when he tries to hit the high notes :(

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
