The black hole, forever mine,
I need the fear, push me out.
Oh be brave, show me signs,
Should I feel shame for the questions that I have (with you)

If you could it be, the things I need
(I'll crawl through knives an inch per tear)
These knees, they bleed for you.
(Let the colour persuade the hate that you fear)

Feed the lie, force the reason,
Leave me in doubt, need some motivation

It's in my hands, the sky
So bright its burning,
It's for me to decide
If flames will reach heaven tonight.
It's in my hands.

Nailed to the floor
Paralyzed
Emotions drifting
Touching the new

If you could it be, the things I need
(I'll crawl through knives an inch per tear)
These knees, they bleed for you.
(Let the colour persuade the hate that you fear)

It's in my hands, the sky
So bright its burning,
It's for me to decide
If flames will reach heaven tonight
[Repeat x4]

The chorus in this song is really kickass. For me this song is about a prophet, who wants to open the eyes of the humans. But they simply ignore him because humans don't want to hear the truth sometimes.

i appreciate that people are putting the leaked album lyrics online, but i am also getting very pissed off at the fact that they are consistently wrong. i really wish you guys would keep the lyrics off of here until you got the true ones from the CD booklet other than that... in flames is my favorite band, and to me... everything they do is magic basically

Haha, it's not about religion. ^^

It's about life, life hurts and it's supposed to... Learn from your mistakes.

"It's in my hands, the sky's so bright, it's burning And for me, to design...In Flames We reach out to light, It's in my hands!"

I'm probably wrong, but I think it sounds more like

"It's in my hands, the sky's so bright, it's burning just for me, to design... we're in flames we'll reach heaven tonight"

Thanks for the correct lyrics RagingLunatix :) They do make a lot more sense. I thought the guessed lyrics were powerful but this stuff is just amazing. Listening to the lyrics, what Lord_Hypnos said about reaching God seems to make a lot of sense. Although I don't think it has anything to do with In Flames' religion or beliefs, it's almost as if they are questioning God and all the people that believe in a God, but where is he now? Eventually he decides its for him to decide. I hope that makes some sense! But it's an amazing song anyway!

Ok. The lyrics I got in some of the parts were Instead of IN FLAMES Can it be... I got "IF YOU couldnt be.. the things I need." And then the next line "THESE LIES let it bleed for you."

But other than that, I think you did a good job on this one. \m/

some corrections that i think are right:

first line: The black hole, forever mine

first (pre) chorus: It's You!! Could it be, the things I need These lies/eyes They bleed...for you

main (second) chorus: It's in my hands, the sky's so bright, it's burning It's for me, to design... with flames! We reach out to (the) light, It's in my hands!

I live in Norway, and believe me, I know this.

    The chorus goes like this:

It's in my hands, the sky So bright it's burning, it's for me to decide... We're Flames We'll reach heaven tonight, it's in my hands.

i believe that inbetween the two lines

Could it be, the things I need. These eyes, they bleed, for you.

there's the utterance of 'i'll crawl through knives just to...' and i can't hear it because it trails off, but it definitely says it.

anyway, for the new album, this is really promising. i respect these, and hope they manage to pull out another fantastic album, because i've enjoyed every piece they've composed.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
