His eyes are locked on her,
Her eyes are fixed elsewhere,
He's confident, but he's not aware,
She doesn't care.
Their only connection, is the silence that they both grasp,
He's lost control, but she's not aware, of his stare.
Everything seems to intimidate him, with the strobe lights flashing, her body's jolting,
But cracking, as his eyes, spilt in two, if only she knew...
The curtain goes down on him again'
Everything seems to be closing in on her,
It feels just like she is being hunted,
But its all right, it's all good,
She's not aware, of his stare.
We've had this date from the beginning'
The curtain goes down on him again'
Who remains when the curtain falls'
Who remains when the curtain goes down...'

I always thought the lyrics were a bit more sinster than that. more like he is watching this girl and almost stalker her but she doesn't realise until maybe it's too late? You know the whole "it feels just like she is being hunted" and "Who remains when the curtain falls?" the final showdown. What happens when they meet.

You retard. It's about just two randoms in a club. The guy likes a girl but the girl has no interest in him. They have both taken ecstasy or some disco drug.

he's lost control, but she’s not aware, of his stare. Everything seems to intimidate him, with the strobe lights flashing, her body's jolting, But cracking, as his eyes, spilt in two, if only she knew...

It says it quite clearly there.

    Good song :D xxxx

I agree with the whole club/two people/drugs thing

''He’s confident, but he's not aware, She doesn't care.'' When your 'under the influence' you're more confident to people you like and you don't notice they arn't interested. ''Everything seems to intimidate him, with the strobe lights flashing, her body's jolting'' the confusion when you're drunk or whatever with all the chaos in a nightclub. ''The curtain goes down on him again…'' Im guessing this is like the closing of the whole chaotic 'show' that has been him making a fool out of himself? and he's failed once again to get the girl.

Amazing song, amazing band. See them live they're just incredible!

i love this song. its so well put together, it sounds so sad. but i always thought it was about a guy seeing a girl on the dance floor, and just watching her, stalking her.

'It feels just like she is being hunted,'

'We’ve had this date from the beginning…'

sounds like he's going to rape her or something. really well put together, sounds asif he's the victim, when in the words, she is.

Maybe a "Streetcar Named Desire" reference? talking about curtains falling, and basically quoting Stanley on the "We've had this date from the beginning", before he rapes Blanche.

LOL @ that. Not that rape is funny, just the context of him saying it.

I agree that this song is about two randoms being on some disco rave drug, "He’s confident, but he's not aware, She doesn't care." That line is a classic. Love Enter Shikari, they're awesome.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
