Subject to Change Lyrics

Relent to your useless devices
Retreat, your last line of defense
Regress to the hollow relationships that shield you from yourself

Relent to your fortress of skin
Retreat, anything to distract
Regress to your hands as they cover your eyes
But you can't help but peek through the cracks

Cold, hard dread swelling into parallels
To everything you ever said you'd repel
Once with a glimpse now
Second your guess it's
Tough to admit and admit and admit that

Your fate's still undecided
Return
Return
Return

Relent, to the terror that distances you
Retreat, to the habitual grins
Regress to the deception, quiet and tame
Once was transformed, now exactly the same
Remember when you nearly plunged into embrace?
But instead you've chosen to keep it all at bay

Return to yourself.

What I think he means by "once was transformed now exactly the same" is one person was an individual but was turned into everyone else by some sort of religion. I know, I have this problem with friends trying to convert me.

Or, not some sort of religion, maybe christiananity. I'm not completely sure.

I would have to disagree. I think this song is about a person who was a Christian and later that person went back to how he/she was before becoming a Christian hence the lines:"Your fate's still undecided Return, Return, Return" and "Remember when you nearly plunged into embrace? But instead you've chosen to keep it all at bay"

I think Latin rocker has it spot on at the beginning it also talks about this "person" going back to their life before they were a christian

I think the key word is "nearly", so it might not be someone who /is/ a Christian. If it was someone who was a Christian, would it say "your fate's still undecided"? Unless perhaps that person is just about to fall away from Christ?

you've got it, latinorocker. i love project 86's ability to blend excellent(!!!!) lyrics with heavy and sometimes creepy music. andrew schwab's voice is a great creep-you-out, get-you-in-the-mood, passionate-for-music voice. take chimes for example, or any other song! spooky!
