Straight signs, crooked signals
Strike down my stereo
Heavens bending
While the world begins to break
Life is ending
Time has come to escape
Down to the chambers

[Chorus:]
Drink this blood and we'll become
Immortal baby
This love is breaking the one last bond

We chose the silence
Hatred, cruel violence
We should be ashamed
We had a chance that we ignored
Now its too late
And its knocking on the door
Ready to frame us

[Chorus]

Surrender to my love
And sacrifice your soul
You're picturing the fate
Its fading like a ghost
Never say goodbye
Never be alone
Never say goodnight
Never say did I

[Chorus]

Immortal love is breaking the one last bond

I think it's about the way humanity is nowadays.. The way our "advanced" (maybe technologically but not otherwise) civilisation is acting, concentrating on materialism and not caring about people, about love, about bonds.

"Drink this blood and we'll become immortal, baby this love is breaking the one last bond,"

    • Drink the blood that symbolizes what we need to sacrifice in order to fix it, the love for money and bloodlust is breaking the bonds between people..

"We chose the silence Hatred, cruel violence We should be ashamed We had a chance that we ignored Now its too late End is knocking on the door Ready to frame us,"

    • It occurs to me that there was a chance to unite and rejoice (perhaps a war of some sort), but that did not happen.

"Surrender to my love And sacrifice your soul Your picture in the frame Is fading like a ghost Never say goodbye Never be alone Never say goodnight Never say die,"

    • He realizes it and wants people to stop doing all the sh*t they do, the essence of our being is fading.

And that's about it :3 The Rasmus' songs have hellofalot meanings, but I don't like when fangirls (mostly) think it's all about love.. No, they sing about everything there is, about life.. :3

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
