and you can take this however you want
yeah you can take this however you want
don't be so so sure this is all it adds up to....you
you're justified
but there's no justice if it's just a lie
no, go and find yourself
you will if you look inside
and i'll never know
and you never will
still i'll never know
and you won't find out
until someone stands out
then you'll get some answers

and you can take this however you want
yeah you can take this however you want
just don't waste your breath unless you can save us
and tell me can you
can you save us?
can you save?
can you save us?
this can't go on without the meaning in the rhyme
can you save?
can you save us?
i can't go on
out of rhythm with our time

our days were numbered by nights on too many rooftops
they said were wasting our lives
oh at least we know that if we died
we lived with passion
they said we burned so bright

we run and we run
we know there's an answer
we know by going home we can find it by ourselves

when want you want is what you're getting
(they're catching onto us)
when all you can do is hide
(don't be afraid)

oh maybe you can save us..
when all we can do is hide..

oh
(we know there's an answer, we know by going home we can find it by ourselves)

This is such a beautifully orchestrated song. The way he pulls the whole album together with this single song is amazing.

god. i seriously just want to sit down and watch Will Pugh (lead singer) sing this one. The vocals are AMAZING with a capital EVERYTHING. I love his little "whoa" sounds and stuff after "They said we'd burn so bright, bright" and then after "When what you want is what your getting" those are my two favorite parts. Love cartel, love this song for all its worth. They do deserve to make it big.

i like the medley concept with this song. its between this and write this down for my fav cartel song. but this song just means a lot to me because it encapsulates the best times of my life pretty much thus far. each progression from part to part brings up memories and it is just a song i can listen to nonstop and get goosebumps every time. another job well done by the boys of cartel

i love the creativity in this song how they blend together, but also how the whole album, and the last three songs especially tend to blend together so seemlessly! this song is one of my favorites, and it reminds me how there still are some true artists in the music scene today. i'm way excited for their new album, and what they're doing to record it is way impressive. if you haven't heard already, check out all the details at drpepperbubble.com

"We know there's an answer, we know but we had to find it by ourselves"

That's a reference to a song from 'Pet Sounds' by The Beach Boys. That's a sweet un-beach-boys-like album. It's just as emotional as this album.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
