I think its a tribute to all the great love song writers of the ages.
To me it seems like he's struggling to write his own profession of love towards this girl. So in the end he writes about how hard it is to write a love song. Which in his own way is saying it's too hard to put into words how much I love you.
It's very optomistic. I love it.
Im guessing, since a minstrel is a middle age preformer and entertainer, that this song is about trying to influence a young lady into loving you. When I think about a minstrel, i think about a jester(hense the entertainer). Its kind of about making a fool of yourself trying to impress some one, or maybe even TRYING to make a fool of yourself to make them laugh. Basically, he's trying to make a girl love him, and is telling everyone else to keep going, not to listen to anyone who doubts them.
But yeah, my interpretation. Great song, great band, great album, great everything. They deserve a nobel peace prize lol./

this song is amazing. its about writing and professing your feelings and love for someone. documentation is being made of the feelings felt. its amazing is what it is. its written, therefore its true and it solves the problems faced. not all problems, but the problem of professing love to the one who doesnt know.

Minstrel is an entertainer of the middle ages.
