Te conocí un día de enero
Con la luna en mi nariz
Y como vi que eras sincero
En tus ojos me perdí

Que torpe distracción
Y que dulce sensación

Y ahora que andamos por el mundo
Como Eneas y Benitín
Ya te encontré varios rasguños
Que te hicieron por ahí

Pero mi loco amor
Es tu mejor doctor

Voy a curarte el alma en duelo
Voy a dejarte como nuevo
Y todo va a pasar
Pronto verás el sol brillar

Tú más que nadie merece ser feliz

Ya vas a ver cómo van sanando
Poco a poco tus heridas

Poco a poco tus heridas
Ya vas a ver cómo va
La misma vida a decantar la sal que sobra del mar

Ya vas a ver cómo van sanando
Poco a poco tus heridas
Ya vas a ver cómo va
La misma vida a decantar la sal que sobra del mar

This is a cute song. It has a very deep and special meaning to Shakira cause she wrote it for her actual boyfriend, Antonio de la Rua. It talks about a real story where a man is discriminated in his own country, and it, obviously, makes him very sad. So Shakira wish is to give him forces and through loving him give him all the courage and braveness that he needs to get over this situation because in Shakira's thought, he more than anyone out there, deserves to be happy.

Obviously Shakira is very in love with this guy. He's hot, but some people say he only hooks up with her because of her money (only a stupid gossip that we all wish isn't true). In her last album she wrote something for him. It is something like she being grateful to him because without him she would have never possibly done this CD. It's clear plenty of the content, if not all, is inspired in him.

There is no way that ANYONE in their right mind would use Shakira for her money... I would be in love with that girl if she cheated on me and beat me with a baseball bat every night... I wish someone wrote a song like this to me...

theres so many cute references to her boyfriend in this song.. like "si yo te digo como dices tu aun dices que decis" cause in argentina (where hes from) they actually conjugate their verbs that way (which is proper) but most other countries we don't.. i just think little things like that in the song are cute..

last year i met a guy in january and this was my song for him.. it didnt last so i was thinking well maybe this year it'll happen again.. so i got about 10 more days. lol

    AWWWW THAT LINE

"si yo te digo "como dices tu?" aun dices "que decis?"

at first i was confused because in spain decís is the plural of dices...so i'm like..what that doesn't make sense...but then i learned that he's argentinean v_____v;;lmfao

    cute cuteeee

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
