The death of a king
Alluring lassos
Slide on so smooth
Tension made of razors
Dragging across you
The flushing of eyes
Couldn't cleanse your abrasions
Deep inside consumed with guilt
I'm clothed in a bed of blankets
Dream suspicious strangers over night

[Chorus]
Righteous pharisees befriending
Silent movements mar re injuring god
The taste of absent minded actions
Outweigh forgiveness

Bridging a widow in spite of her venom
I've failed to mention your soul
Three becoming two
Such a left in criminal
Only the mind of the temptress knows
Actions are my remorse for amnesia

[Chorus]

So close to healing the weak
Turning into the enemy
Paralyzing kings

We are so self

[Chorus]

I think this song is about somebody who either screwed somebody over while not being in a healthy state of mind, or was screwed over himself by somebody close.

I'm suprised nobody has posted here. This is a great song and one of my favorites of "10 Years" Now to the meaning.

I feel like this song is about losing and gaining power. That's what this song means to me. It will have different meanings for everyone though.

"remorse for amnesia" I always though he was saying "remorsefull Amnesia" which I took to mean something you felt so bad about you chose to forget it even happend. Again sounds like temptation, having trouble resisting something you know you shouldnt do.

Pharisees = Hypocritical in the Bible. I heard a quote from Hasek saying this is about putting your faith in someone who is a hypocrite in the first place.

NO NO NO NO NO !!!!!!!!!!

Its about the crucifiction folks. read it again.

The first 4 lines-Jusus being whipped. Next 4 lines-view of the people doing, amd condoning this. Rightous pharisses---the pharissis silent movements were to put the blame on ceazar so the church would not be blamed and ceazar "washed" his hands. silent movements=nobody to blame. They acted absent mindedly, businesslike almost. The movements reinjuring god was like not only are you going to kill me but you wont be open about it---huh, that must mean its wrong...could be?

Briding a widow in spite of her venom---the crucifiction was also seen as a miarrage betweeh Jusus and the earth, which is seen as a female entity. Even though the earth was corrupt, he did it anyways, sacraficed himself.

So close to healing the weak---if jesus could have lived forever as a person, he could save us all easy, but he had to give us the choice to do what we want, and that wasnt easy for jusus to like.

And then it changes to WE are so self rightous-we are no different than those people then, they are not any less corrupt than we are, saten has just found a way to make sin look les drastic)

GET IT NOW?!?!?! Read it again now, youll see.

Personally, this song means all of that and so much more. I love Ten Year's lyrics because it's one of the few band where I stuggle with the meaning. They add so much detail and it still remains vauge. Honestly, every song of theirs has a seperate meaning in every line...

serenity i believe whats in tht interview

    which says:

"The lyrics are very weird. I wanted to write some off-the-wall lyrics. It really won't make sense to anyone, because it's a very personal thing and I meant to write it that way. But to sum it up, it's about being hypocritical. That's why it uses the term "the Pharisees," because Pharisees is Biblical, but if you look it up it [also means] a Pharisee is a hypocrite. And it's about someone putting their trust and faith in another person and finding out that t hey're a hypocrite; what their actions are is totally different from what's coming out of their mouth."

but i see where u first got tht thought just because it says pharisee

    you guys are ENTIRELY wrong.

i saw 10 years a few weeks ago and i was praying they would play this song cuz it's my fav. so they did and before going into it jesse explained what it's about. it has to do with him getting drunk and messing around with his buddy's gf. weird right?? sounds like something blink 182 would right but that's what he said. i forget the name of the alcohol he kept mentioning but that's what it's about.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
