So long, good-bye Lyrics
Love me when you're high, leave me when you cry
I know it all takes time, like a river running dry when the sun's too bright
May we meet again in another life
Like strangers passing by
May we see clearly in a different light
The sun will rise and expose all our lies
So why deny that you and I lead different lives?
The rivers from your eyes can't change my mind
May we meet again in another life
Like strangers passing by
May we see clearly in a different light
May we meet again in another life
Like strangers passing by
May we see clearly in a different light

This song makes me want to cry. I mean, I'll get emotional about songs, but this one is an entirely different level.
I think it's just about two people who can't be together for one reason or another, and maybe they will get another chance in the next life. And that idea is hard for me to think about... that these two people will just have to wait until their next life.

This song perfectly fits me and the person I'm in love with now. He doesn't love me, and we are from two completely different social classes in school (aka lives), and all I can hope is that we can meet in another life and see clearly, to quote the song. He's my soulmate in a shell that can only hurt me. Maybe another life can make it work better.

Hm, well a lot of people seem to think that when he sings about meeting again in another life, it's like a new start for them, but I'm not seeing it this way. I don't think this is a nice break up at all really. I think the girl wants the relationship to work but the guy just doesn't want anything to do with her again.
The rivers from your eyes can't change my mind.
She obviously doesn't want him to leave, but he just can't take it anymore.
So long this is goodbye, may we meet again in another life, like strangers passing by..
When they "meet again" he is giving her hope that they'll see each other, but since they will only be passing by, he still doesn't want anything to become of it.
So I don't really think he's giving her a happy ending at all. This is just my view though.
Exactly my thoughts.
Exactly my thoughts.
@WhispersInTheWind Exactly, may we meet again in another life like strangers passing by and see clearly in a different light ,that they should keep moving on, passing each other by. Dope song.

yes this song is about a break up but its sad and happy at the same time i dk

It's a girlfriend who was on drugs. Named Kathy my cousin.he named an album after her called killing all that holds you .First word of all the words spell her name .I went to school with both . She passed in a car wreck several years ago. Jesse was never into drugs but she was. They were together around 5 years or so. Maybe he will tell the public one day about her.Rest in peace Kathy drinnen

love it
I think the song is talking about two people who were in love with each other. Now things arent the same and they both realize that its time to move on. "the rivers from your eyes cant change my mind" i feel like the tears use to be a weak point for him. But now he is facing the reality and not allow her pain to give in. "meet in another life". I feel like he loves her so much that maybe it would work another time.

Saw them in concert at the Valarium in Knoxville, and before they played this song he said that it's a love song gone horribly wrong.

ah, this song's sad, but happy in ways. I can't explain how much I love it.

wooow what a touching song.. love it
