I still hang on every word
In a world of faded memories
Where you're still in love with me
I can see it in your eyes
A look as if your major tom has lost control

I must hold on
This happens all the time
I still find my faith in you
I can't hold on
This happens all the time
I still find my way to you

If the dreams all that I got
Then I wish you in a fairy tale
Where you're still in love with me
I can see it in your eyes
A look as if your hero fell and lost his soul

I must hold on
This happens all the time
I still find my faith in you
I can't hold on
This happens all the time
I still find my way to you

Phenominal song. I cannot wait for this new album to be released. It seems pretty obvious that the song is about someone who is still in love with someone else, but they no longer love them in the same manner. I can relate to this right now. Cold is one hell of a band. You can check out the song on their Myspace Profile and check out the video for this song on Rollingstone.com.

I freaking love this song. It's definitely up there with their best songs...although Cold doesn't have "best songs" cuz they all rock. I love this band, they're so awesome. can't wait for their new cd august 24.

I love this song, I listened to it alot in the past few weeks with what girls troubles I've been having.

    My fave lines are;

" I still hang on every word In a world of faded memories Where you're still in love with me"

To me, thats significant because I got with a girl who told me on a daily basis that she loved me, I fell in love with her in time and when we finally hit it off it went downhill. I was heartbroken and I those days where she said that were "Faded memories" so to speak.

But thankfully it's all gone on the up.

And Artemisa is spot on with the meaning of the song if you ask me, and sorry to hear about your loss.

If you havent already, go now and check out the video clip for this song.. it is bloody fantastic.

If the video clip tells the story the song is intended to tell .. then the song is about a decision on whether to hold on, or to let go of everything major in your life.

It features Scooter in a car accident, and EMT's and people are running around distraught, he is "outside his body" looking in on the EMT's working on him trying to save his life.

In the end he realises it isnt worth it, and decides not to hold on .. but yeah..

Yet another brilliantly written Cold song, backed up with a very well orchestrated video clip.

    Well done once again Cold!!

westwingb, the lyrics are actually correct as David Bowie's song is called "Major Tom."

Just want to say that this song is great, and the video had me in chills. Cold really knows how to make 'em.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
