Angely i demony kruzhili nado mnoj
Razbivali ternii i zvyozdnye puti
Ne znaet schast'ya tol'ko tot,
Kto ego zova ponyat'ne smog...

I am calling calling now, spirits rise and falling
Soboj ostat'sya dol'she...
Calling calling now, in the depth of longing
Soboj ostat'sya dol'she

Meaning
Stand alone... nothing's real anymore and...
Beskonechnyj beg...

Poka zhiva ya mogu starat'sya
Na letu ne upast;
Ne razuchit'sya mechtat'... lyubit'...
Beskonechnyj beg...

Calling calling, for the place of knowing
There's more than what can be linked
Calling calling, never will I look away
for what life has left for me
Yearning yearning, for what's left of loving
Soboj ostat'sya dol'she...

Calling calling now, spirits rise and falling
Soboj ostat'sya dol'she...
Calling calling now, in the depth of longing
Soboj ostat'sya dol'she

The vocals are simply amazing. I fell in love with this song the first time I watched the series. It might even top the series itself :p

Aeria gloris is "heavenly glory" in latin

    Entire song translation:

Angels and demons were circling above me Swishing through the hardships and milky ways The only one who doesn't know happiness is the one who couldn't understand its call

Watch in awe, watch in awe Heavenly glory, heavenly glory

I am Calling Calling now, Spirits rise and falling To stay myself longer... Calling Calling, in the depth of longing To stay myself longer...

Watch in awe, watch in awe Heavenly glory, heavenly glory

Stand alone... Where was life when it had a meaning... Stand alone... Nothing's real anymore and...

...Endless run... While I'm alive, I can try not to fall while flying, Not to forget how to dream... how to love ...Endless run...

Calling Calling, For the place of knowing There's more that what can be linked Calling Calling, Never will I look away For what life has left for me Yearning Yearning, for what's left of loving

To stay myself longer... Calling Calling now, Spirits rise and falling To stay myself longer... Calling Calling, in the depth of longing To stay myself longer...

Watch in awe, watch in awe Heavenly glory, heavenly glory

It is the opening theme to it any way, hence the reference to stand alone, a series named the stand alone complex. "Yearning yearning, for what's left of loving " and "Stand alone... nothing's real anymore" is in reference to the fact that she was once a human child with feelings and emotions but had to become an artificial being in order to survive.

I think there are a few lines missing:

Mana du vortes - The flow will catch you Mana du vortes - The flow will catch you Aeria Gloris - Flying in Glory Aeria Gloris - Flying in Glory

"Aeria Gloris" is old latin I think.

i think that 'mana du vortes' could actually be 'nalybuites' - russian for 'watch in awe'. The perfect song for Stand ALone Complex though. It can sum up Motoko like nuthin else. Also, a nod has to go to origa, who actually perform the song. That is some seriously amazing vocals.

Although "Nalyubuites" is listed on most lyric pages (including the Yoko Kanno Project), it sounds a lot more like "Mana du vortes" to me. If you listen carefully it's Latin, not Russian. There is some debate on this elsewhere, and the consensus was that it's "Mana du vortes."

@ comebackkurdt: i read your comment, listened to Inner Universe on my ipod a bunch of times pretty loudly and clearly, and i am pretty sure it's Mana du vortes.

While the intro is bland enough to have almost made me turn it off the first time I listened to it, I'm glad my fiancee forced me to listen to the whole song. It's an amazing, amazing piece.

It captures the melancholy of the main character perfectly. She has replaced all of her physical body with android parts -- brain included -- and has lost the anchor of her "ghost" (her consciousness or soul) to physical reality and has begun to drift away on the waves of the 'net.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
