While the intro is bland enough to have almost made me turn it off the first time I listened to it, I'm glad my fiancee forced me to listen to the whole song. It's an amazing, amazing piece.
It captures the melancholy of the main character perfectly. She has replaced all of her physical body with android parts -- brain included -- and has lost the anchor of her "ghost" (her consciousness or soul) to physical reality and has begun to drift away on the waves of the 'net.
A minor correction - afair her brain is real. In the movie she is uncertain of that since she has never actually seen it with her own eyes (how could she?), but there is nothing indicating that she doesnt have one. I dont remember any reference to her brain in the tv-series, and i dont think there is one, though i might be wrong.
