5, 6, 5, 6, 7, 8

All these beats
Workin' down the street
Jumping, jacking
Gimme some time
'cause if you don't, I won't
You'll never get back, yeah
If you do, I swear
I'll give it to you

Standing on the board
Board is on the wheels
Wheels are on the ground
Spinning round and round

I got the power
Back here
All you gotta do
I got the power
Back here
Gimme some time

I got here, where?
I got there, where?
I got it
You got it
We got it everywhere
Ok

Get all your loser heads up
Ok
Try to pick up the junk
Ok

Yay

actually, in the second chorus, they're saying:

"the revolution has come its time to pick up your gun - GO TEAM!"

its the same anthem the Black Panther Party used in the 1960s.

Yeah, pathetic commenting on some lyrics that I submitted, and the same day even?! Jeeze. Well, anyway, if these lyrics are at all accurate, I'm pretty sure that this song is about dancing, and lots of it.

Sorry langdon, I dont know about these lyrics.. I hear:

Ah we see Oh you gotta see Go! Get back here Gimme some time Cause if you don't I won't you gotta get back and if you do I swear I'll give it to you

Standin' on the turf know you're gonna win gettin' on the ground gettin' on the ground again

I got the power get back and oh you gotta see I got the power get back and give me some time

I got it here, friend, I got it there, friend, I got it got you got it got he got it everywhere

But I'm just guessing, too. The lyrics aren't posted anywhere, even in the album notes. I think it's because this song isn't really about the lyrics. It's about the music, and the chanting cheerleaders, and high energy, and feeling good. The Go! Team is an amazing band, and this is an amazing song.

I think the mystery of the lyrics is part of why I keep coming back to it.

    At least we'll all be sure about the "5, 6, 5, 6, 7, 8" part, right?

I very much enjoy The Go! Team high energy song. I've always thought if there was a poster band for prozac The Go! Team would be the first choice.

Yeah, they're not really a lyrics band. On record you can often barely make out the vocals- although I saw them live last night and the vocals were MUCH higher up in the mix. ALso, instead of "OK" I think it is "GO TEAM", because that's what she got us all to shout last night!

I'm pretty sure it says 'your body's gonna feel good' not 'you know it's gonna feel good'

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
