Watch who's comin' at you
Why? who's got the power?
Watch who's comin' at you
If you might allow her
Watch who's comin' at you
Why? who's comin' through?
One, a bit right then we got two
Watch who's comin' at you
But don't fuss
Watch who's gonna get you back on the bus
Watch you change your light bulb
Then you take a shower
Watch who's comin' at you
Why? who's got the power?

If you hear us say "come USA"
There ain't no way the gangstas say
Why hello, hello, H-E-L-L-O
Well I need you I want you to know its A-OK

Falcons, falcons, falcons, falcons
Blood stripe falcons

"I woke up this morning out the door,
I told the guy who's at the door,
I took the morning to read the paper,
See if the news was all okay"

Watch who's comin' at you
Why? who's got the power?
Watch who's comin' at you
If you might allow her
Watch who's comin' at you
Why? who's comin' through?
One, a bit right then we got two
Watch who's comin' at you
But don't fuss
Watch who's gonna get you back on the bus
Watch you change your light bulb
Then you take a shower
Watch who's comin' at you
Why? who's got the power?

Lets go
Lets go
Lets go
Watch who's.
Got the.
Power.

Lets go
Lets go
Lets go
Watch who's.
Got the.
Power.

Falcons, falcons, falcons, falcons
Blood stripe falcons.

no, this song definitely has something to do with the american government.. 'blood stripe falcons', and talking about power, being watched when you go about your daily life, 'but don't fuss'- because the government will bring you down, just watch who's coming at you, because the leaders of america have the power, not you.

i love this band... these lyrics might just not mean anything at all... i think its all about how the song sounds like, the cheerleading-like voices in the background are no more than just another sound added to the song, i like it, this is an intresting and certainly catchy song, thats all

I don't think these lyrics are correct at all. That's not what it sounds like to me. Where did they come from?

The lyrics are unintelligible as far as I'm concerned, even if you can make them out. I just prefer listening to how awesome the words sound.

I could never make out the lyrics on any their songs, but I kind of love them. First picked up them in '07 when I heard Universal Speech streaming on KSCU. I had never heard them before and had no idea who they were. I didn't even catch their name or the song name. It wasn't until I saw "Whip It!" about 2 years later that I discovered who they were...when I heard this song.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
