Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.
Rack of lamb of God
We serve you instead in a bed
That's sweet to sleep forever
In outer space
Track saquatches
Through the snowy climbs of Canada
Are you an upright bear?
Are you even there?
Do you exist?
So sexy
So cold
So british
Try like hell
Explore anew in the carousel
Things don't change
Things don't change
Love everyone
As long as everyone's to blame
Space space space is the place
And the sun is fun fun fun
Severed body won't run
So take your sweet time
Frozen heads up in outer space
In a box
They crash back to earth
Crash back to earth
and they've brought
back with moon rocks
I think I spotted a yeti
Yet I didn't die
I'm not sure
Was it fur?
Was it alive?
They're coming home
But, my how the tundra has grown
Since you've been gone
Everyone's gone
Bye x 60
Rack of lamb of God
We serve you instead outta' bed
That's sweet to sleep forever
It's sweet to sleep forever
Except in outer space
Track saquatches
Through the snowy climbs of Canada
Are you an upright bear?

In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him.
There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
Punchline

Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
it is good song. whatisguide.net/0226-abominable-snowman.html

This isn't the Unicorns, this is Islands, a band formed with 2 members of the Unicorns.
the unicorns did it first, then islands re-did it. there are live bootlegs of unicorns shows where they play it.
wow, this song is pretty epic.
bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye.
wow, this song is pretty epic.

In a Corn Gangg bootleg I found, Nick introduces this song as "an old Arcade Fire song" as a sort of tongue-in-cheek stab at the audience, I think, and of course, the audience cheers.
i have a studio version of it. it's better than the islands' version.
did you say you have the Unicorns' studio version??
there's no 'the' on islands bud.
