This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
you're whole again now
its an obvious reflection
can see it in my neck
taking slow dancing lessons
nervous laughter filled the voids
when I declared you your own holiday
your voices sound different though I've heard it before
remember the winters that we slept in the car
you said your crooked legs don't walk so well
I said my eyes were tired and declared
you your own holiday
you'll be here
its an obvious reflection
can see it in my neck
taking slow dancing lessons
nervous laughter filled the voids
when I declared you your own holiday
your voices sound different though I've heard it before
remember the winters that we slept in the car
you said your crooked legs don't walk so well
I said my eyes were tired and declared
you your own holiday
you'll be here

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
Magical
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
Blue
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
Hmmm... it seems the final version of this song that made it onto the album is different from the original lyrics. From the fold-out artwork of their "They'll Only Miss You When You Leave: Songs 1996-2003" compilation, the lyrics seem to be...
Your home again now A brand new confession Concealing my neck Taking slow dancing lessons Nervous laughter filled all of the voids When I declared you your own holiday Your voice sounded strange When I heard it out loud Remember November When we slept in the car Crooked legs don't walk so well My eyes are tired I declare you a holiday You'll be here
Beautiful. It's interesting to see how the songs take shape.
no comments? this is possibly the most beautiful song i've ever heard.
The correct line is:
Can see it in my neck
i've already commented on this song, but i cannot go a day without listening to this song.
well, i think the person in this song committed suicide. in the song "ignorant piece of shit" (which seems to be about suicide), november 16th is mentioned again. i think that's the day this person died.
Oh no. November 16th is the day Mat proposed to me. Everything was going to be great...until we were both so strung out that the only thing I could do was leave Tucson and get myself straight. So I flew out of there, planning to return...but life took over and we went down our separate paths. Mat and Jenn hadn't heard from me in so long that they assumed I was dead...possibly from an overdose. But I was actually starting over in a new place. When we finally ran into each other in Top Hat near Seattle i December of 2007, they thought they had seen a ghost. Imagine my surprise to hear so many intimate details of our relationship in those first two albums...you can fill in the rest - or ask me..I'll tell you. h-rhodes
Are you really the Heather Rhodes?

Another question: How do you feel about your life and relationship being written about and shared with music fans?
doesn't the nov 16 thing have to do with mat and his ex fiance carissa? "on nov 16, will you marry me?"
No, not at all. mat and I were planning a Santeria Wedding in Mexico. It was our proposal date. Carissa was a friend that Mat knew from the Tucson Gutter Punk scene. No lovey dovey ties at all. As a matter of fact, she married a guy named Spit in a Vegas Wedding that summer of 96'.

"your voice is indifferent"
well it obviously has something to do with ignorant piece of shit, "On bended knee Will you marry me And on November 16 Everything was buried down " I think that this was the day that they got engaged, and therefore he declared her "her own holiday" and in the end it didn't work out. It's on songs about leaving which all deal with some sort of separation. I think it's just about her leaving him after they were engaged "taking slow dancing lessons" and "crooked legs" walking all refer to wedding things, like the first dance and walking down the isle.
Close, but no cigar. It did have to do with the day Mat proposed to me...and I left Tucson. It gets a bit harrier after that...
