Right
I got two left hooks, who wanna test?
Well, since no one's steppin' to me
Huh
Take me to your cult leader
Ah Huh huh
Take me to your local drug dealer
Yeow
Take me to the man in the mirror
When you stand and deliver
With your hand on the trigger
I'm an emotional terrorist
I double M-U-N-E
Never make my enemy public
I'm a private dancer
Dancing for money
(Let's get together, let's rock!)

D-d-d-d-dance Monkey
Dance you god damn Monkey
Do that thing that's funny
Do I make you wanna laugh?
I make you wanna move
I make you wanna do do do do dodo
D-d-d-d-dance Monkey
Dance you god damn Monkey
Do that thing that's funny
Do I make you wanna laugh?
I make you wanna move

Huh
Case one
Carries a paint gun
She's unafraid of waivin' when she's getting her face done
Her favorite radio station's a permanent paid vacation
Burning her face in the sun
She loves repetative songs that keep playin'
You know the repetative songs that keep playin'
She learned all the words and she works it baby
Dangerously catchy and she feels it in her cervix lately
Cause the rhythem is a cancer
She's on a secret diet
A private viewing disease free TV pilot
She saw the future in a group study
They threw money in her pants

D-d-d-d-dance Monkey
Dance you god damn Monkey
Do that thing that's funny
Do I make you wanna laugh?
I make you wanna move
I make you wanna do do do do dodo
Dance Monkey
Dance you god damn Monkey
Do that thing that's funny
Do I make you wanna laugh?
I make you wanna move
I make you wanna (rock this motherfucker)

Don't
Live for the moment
Live for the constant
Die for what's right or get killed by your conscience
There's a difference between conscience, conscious, and conscientious
Contrary to popular belief
You're none of these
There's plenty to feed empty mouths of the nest bound
The kept down and apes won't be banging on their chests now
When pacemakers are fragile
They hate the taste of capsules
They feed their face with Paxil
Females hate their dad still
Police sons got mommy issues on deck at the podium
Holding tongues with the rituals more complex than Napolean
I told em
It isn't his job
To live in a fog
I don't have a god complex, you gotta simple god
Huh
Take me to your cult leader
Come on man
Take me to your local drug dealer
Come on man
Take me to the man in the mirror
When you stand and deliver
With your hand on the trigger
And a can of miller in the other
You can't kill me motherfucker
I got your number
You best disconnect before I call it
The bumber sticker on your forehead's the wrong fit
When the bomb hits
(Who's music will you look to for shelter)
When the bomb hits
(Who's music will you look to for shelter)
When the bomb hits
(Who's music will you look to for shelter)
Not that mine will help ya!

D-d-d-d-Dance!

(We're gonna rock this motherfucker!)
Fucking Francis!!!!

This song slanders the industry. Think about it.

Case one Carries a paint gun She's unafraid of waivin' when she's getting her face done Her favorite radio station's a permanent paid vacation Burning her face in the sun

Monkeys that dance on the corner with 2 symbols their hands are what mainstream artists are being refered to because their lack of control of their right to do or say what they want. Sage uses a female in this song because females were limited to what they could say a while ago too, (Slavery, Woman Civil Rights, Salem Witch Trials) and now these self absorbed A & R's that could give 2 fucks about Hip-Hop are doin the same thing to artists that men did to women, revoking their god-given rights to justice and freedom. This woman represents a product that is used to find new ideas. So as she listens to the radio stations and hears the same thing that seems to amuse her, she uses them, recycles the scheme, and uses it for money and that leads into the line

Her favorite radio station's a permanant paid vacation Burning her face in the sun (the spotlight of fame)

So as she learns how to dance for the money like artists do today, she becomes a custom to following directions. So she markets the product well " and she works it baby", gets attentin from the public " shes dangerously catchy, and she feels it in her cervix lately". But meanwhile the industry corrupting her and because she keeps dancing for the public, it corrupts their minds too with her media-created figure and rhythm which is effecting the future of America because of the followers that wanna carry on the tradition, And the A & R's and the people throw money at her like crazy, Like A Industry Ho

Cause the rhythm is a cancer She's on a secret diet A private viewing disease free TV pilot She saw the future in a group study They threw money in her pants

Plain and simple. Media slander period. The second is all his beliefs on standing for what you believe in even if you're standing alone or get killed by the system. Genius Song. Holla at me people J.J MiC

Ave Grave
Thee More Shallows
So this has been.my favorite song of OTEP's since it came out in 2004, and I always thought it was a song about a child's narrative of suffering in an abusive Christian home. But now that I am revisiting the lyrics, I am seeing something totally new. This song could be gospel of John but from the perspective of Jesus. Jesus was NOT having a good time up to and during the crucifixion. Everyone in the known world at the time looked to him with fear, admiration or disgust and he was constantly being asked questions. He spoke in "verses, prophesies and curses". He had made an enemy of the state, and believed the world was increasingly wicked and fallen from grace, or that he was in the "mouth of madness". The spine of atlas is the structure that allows the titan to hold the world up. Jesus challenged the state and in doing so became a celebrated resistance figure. It also made him public enemy #1. All of this happened simply because he was doing his thing, not because of any agenda he had or strategy. And then he gets scourged (storm of thorns) There are some plot holes here but I think it's an interesting interpretation.

The Spy

Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there?

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
