I look great!
I punctured through the gate!
Today is fine!
I’m done!
I won!
Swimming in a koi aquarium.

Damn that man!
Shake my hand.
Smoking’s stripped, beer’s banned,
And the rain feels good on my skin,
I swagger down the road with a confident grin.

Come here and I’ll show ya,
I’m happy to know ya,
I’ll catch ya then throw ya,
I, I, I, I’m happy to know ya.

I look in the mirror and the mirror looks back,
This time last week I was feeling crap,
Made a wish in a well,
“End this hell!”
Helped to my feet, and then I fell.

Now, who’s this stranger rattling a tin?
I grabbed some change and threw some coppers in,
And the rain feels good on my skin,
Continue down the road with a confident grin.

Come here and I’ll show ya,
I’m happy to know ya,
I’ll catch ya then throw ya,
I, I, I, I’m happy to know ya.

I didn’t wear glasses ‘cos I thought it might rain,
Now I can’t see anything again,
Put this case to the vote,
It’s worthy to note,
I haven’t come here just to rock your boat.

Now I can’t say I’m free of all sin,
Before you greet me inform your next of kin,
‘Cos the rain’s still caressing my skin,
Soon arrived in Memphis with a confident grin.

Come here and I’ll show ya,
I’m happy to know ya,
I’ll catch ya then throw ya,
I, I, I, I’m happy to know ya.
I, I, I, I’m happy to know ya.
I, I, I, I’m happy to know ya.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
