There you are again.
Kissing another woman.
And all you can say to me is
’Baby please forgive me.’
Suppose I’m a fool to let you
get away with everything you say and do.
But I can’t help it cos I
love you way too much to leave.

Wonder how much a heart can take.
Wonder how strong I am, but frankly I don’t care.

And when you play with me, you break my heart.
And when you’re using me, you tear me apart.
I’m getting told to leave you, to say goodbye.
Because you’re nothing but a lie.
Still I ain’t never ever getting tired of it.
And there is a reason why.
The pain you cause me I can stand because I love you.
Love you my lie.

Don’t know where I am.
Don’t know where I’m headed.
All I know is I have to hang on to you,
cos I can’t lose you.
Trying to find some strength
within my torn soul.
But don’t know if there’s any left
after all the dispair you’ve left me in.

You can keep on hurting me.
But whatever you do, don’t leave me.
That would kill the last of me.

If you were a thousand miles away from me.
And if I’d cry enough to make an ocean, I would swim right back to you.
Don’t care if I’ll end up bleeding, out of strength.
You will always be the one I love.

You’re playing
You’re using
You’re tearing me apart
You’re causing me pain
But I’m still loving you

Play with me
You’re using me
Tear me apart
Should say goodbye
Never getting
tired of it
You cause me pain

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
